It's catch 22. The players need the fixtures to get up to match speed/fitness but there's always the risk of injury unfortunately. Players are at risks of injuries everywhere, so many times we've seen them hurt in training or even during warm ups. Hopefully the preseason will reduce the risk of the injuries during the season.

Seems to have come from an inocculous challenge as well which is both typical and unfortunate.

I was expecting more of the fixtures to field fringe/youth players and i'm surprised we've sent strong squads to pretty much all the games. Hess is building up the about time on the pitch. It's not like they have all been playing 90 minutes every game. It's just unfortunate, one of those things etc etc.

Here's hoping it's not too bad. Get back soon Adam.

To be honest I would like us to give more game time to fringe players so they can prove themselves to Hessy.

This is the worst news possible to get an injury like that now. Hope it is not as bad as it seems.

if there is such a thing as a time to have an injury, i'm just glad it's now and not 2 or 3 weeks down the line...obviously depending on what sort of injury it is...and how bad?

    GOOD LUCK ADAM!

Yeah, at least there's some time to recover before the start of the new season

I just hope it is not too bad, worse than 3 months then we are in trouble, less than that and we can cope.

Now I know this may annoy some people but I feel this may help the club in the long run. Hessy may now seriously look at adding another forward to the ranks in case of losing Adam or Danny.
For example we may sign this Ollie Mann who is on trial, his goalscoring form carries over to league football and end's up scoring 20 goals this season. Next season he is in the first team and score's another 20 in League 1. That summer he is sold for around 2 million.

So the club are 40 goals, a promotion and 2 million better off all because of Birchill picking up a knock in a pre-season!

I know this wont happen but if you look at someone like Charlie Austin or even Sim Jackson you know it is possible!

It all sounds mad but he is of that pedigree I think to be a star, Just sign him stick him there on the bench and when either are injured or need a rest, play him and he will show his goods.

until we know the extents with birchall injury lets not jump the gun. if this mann kiddy shows hes up to the task and proves himself it would be worth offering him a 2 year plus deal (depending on how good) and seeing how he does. hopefully he would make more of an impact than s.payne has done. yes he hasnt had a chance but if hess saw more in him that a sub/bench warmer do you think he would have spent so heavily on strikers in so far this off season. best wishes to birchall and lets hope this mann is good enough to come in secure 2 promotions and earn the club 2 million :p
