Can you imagine how poor an Ipswich side it will be if this deal goes through. Despite not being fully match fit, he was one of the few to show any teeth or claws last weekend.

They could be pretty deep in it by the mid point of the season - unless they have replacements in mind at very short notice!

Yes he looked a bit of a handful, and he does score goals (his stint at Coventry was good, as was last season for 'them') but £8m for a Championship player who is not notching up goals like Rhodes or McCormack? I think that is a bit over the top, even if the money is welcomed south of the border.

Yes, but what will happen to the money? Most will get swallowed up "servicing debts" at a guess. I almost, almost, feel sorry for binner fans.

A bargain for Ipswich, frankly, if this goes through. McGoldrick was their best player but no way worth close to £8m.

Assuming he's sold for that amount and MM is allowed to use the funds (in time...) that amount could transform their season bringing in 3/4 quite good quality players

They could always invest a large chunk of the cash on Becchio?
It's the least we could do to help !

Yes, but that was not a transfer between English clubs. On the continent the league's mostly have far less income than here, thus limiting transfer fees. Here, almost weekly, we have ordinary quality players who may have had a period of very decent performances commanding superstar prices. Our system is ludicrous in the extreme.

£8m for a 27 year old player that scored 15 goals in the Chapionship seems slightly mental ..

They should bite Leicester's hand off for that. Yes he's by far their best player, but if that money was invested back into the squad (if!), then £8m will go a long way. They've only got 3 days to use it though!

Alternatively, take the money, limp through until January using freebies and loans, then improve the squad?

You're right it will be more than 8 Million with all the add ons <ok>

Tommy Smith is going to Palace for £4 Million so thats a total of 12 Million in addition to 4 Million we got for Cresswell. Not bad for a team that we put together for fcuk all.

Nah, Mick won't accept a transfer that big. He doesn't believe teams should be rewarded financially for promotion. It'd be dirty money to him.

Thats bollocks, it won't be 8 million quid.

Plus your team will see bugger all investment, (I'm sure the bank manager will be a bit happier though).

You have League One written all over you. Massive debt and having to sell your players to accomodate that debt.

He's leaving it late in the window to start looking for reinforcements, Warky.
But then worst case scenario, I suppose there are always loans, cast-offs and freebies avail......ahhh, hang on just a moment :emoticon-0112-wonde
