Afternoon all! So, Paynter's banging them in for the reserve side and has apparently turned down a loan move to fight for his place. Judging by the last couple of matches, a target man up top with McCormack (or Webber/Snods) behind is Colin's tactic for the rest of the season. Out of the striker's available, Forssell to me really doesn't look good enough - still a couple of signs of a top player, but no goal threat at all so far. Webber doesn't look like he's been signed as an out and out striker, more like playing in the attacking three. And Somma's injured still. Becchio had his first truly effective match in a long while at the weekend and is pretty much everyone's favourite to lead the line. But we do need an effective alternative to him also. Now I have been unlucky enough to catch a couple of Paynter's appearances first hand and he has been the worst thing since Liam Dickinson. However he does have a decent history, is playing well and apparently determined. The question is - would you want Paytner on the bench as a different option to Luc? Personally, I'd give him a go. Forssell is never going to be a reliable option, so why not let a goal-hungry Billy have a shot. If he comes on and looks like a self-concious, headless rhino again, then we need to get shot. Thoughts? MOT to the play-offs!
I think McCormack and Becchio have done quite well recently, we don't need Paynter, I would have rather kept Sam than Billy
