A loan with an option to buy in January would be good for all parties, nothing ventured nothing gained.

Not too different to Fryatt in my opinion.

As long as we have Fryatt, we won't be after him. Tickles will be all over this.

In 17 games(6 of those from the bench), he scored 9 goals.

His Premier League strike rate is currently better than 1 in 2, he might not manage to keep up that rate, but it's a little early to be writing him off as a Premier League player.

8 of those goals came for Southampton in the Championship and one in the Capital cup.

I don't think he actually has a Premier league goal to his name.

He's prolific in the Championship, so I guess he would be no worse than a Hooper or Austin type signing. Still a gamble, if we are to sign another striker, I'd rather it be someone with PL scoring experience.

So they did, please completely disregard my previous post.

He's not good enough for the Premier League. <laugh>

He doesn't but he's only made 2 sub appearances in his entire career I believe.

Personally don't think he's Premier League quality.

His Chanpionship record is only 180 games and goals 67. Which a average of 17 goals a season. He's a good Championship forward, but no more.

Rumors that Fryatt may be on his way out, so perhaps it may be worth taking a chance on Billy if only on loan

Id think if Fryatt was really leaving it would be to free up cash for the midfielder situation. We would still have Aluko, Sagbo, Graham, Pro and possibly Brady who could play up front. Not that all of those are ideal of course but no one is going to do well upfront without improving the midfielder situation.

When we were struggling to score goals at times in the Championship I would have gladly had Billy Sharp on board. We've moved on now...

Plus where did the rumour about Fryatt come from?

I am a fan, but he doesn't really have the Premier League experience that you probably are looking for. Also didn't get much game time last season.
