Sad news that one of our ex players from the late 70's early 80's passed away yesterday. Rip Billy.

RIP Billy, only saw him play a few times but was a favorite of mine. Possibly due to being shorter than me!
2-1 on New Year's day and John Lewis stuck one in from a long way out, if my fading memory recalls. My dad (who is also no longer with us, but had a longer innings than Billy) in his infinite wisdom decided we'd be safer on the North Bank than visiting as an away supporter, so long as we kept our mouths shut. 15 years of age, couldn't keep my moth shut when we scored. Got out in one piece though. One of my favourite City players. 58 is no age.
Grateful to him for netting the winner when City avenged the jacks in easter 1980 for that excruciatingly agonising loss on new years day 1980.
At 5'4" he was probably shorter than most on here Taff. Didn't let his size get in the way. Was a wholehearted player.
I remember he scored v Arsenal in the cup - must have been about 1980
RIP
