If Davies was sacked for being a knob, there must be thousands of Forest fans out there fearing the same fate will befall them!
No your right but his achievements have been?? and dont go throwing the fc twente at me, as i go 4 times a year to holland and the quality of football over there is on par with league 1
We will rue this day for years to come this is a shocking decision! Sack the board and doughty out! Good luck Billy with your next job!
From Mark Arthur's comments at the game in February I wouldn't be surprised if he backs Malky MacKay. Why did it take so long to sack Billy?
I,m slightly bemused by this i think i,m right in understanding that Billy was out of favour with the board for reasons i don't know but why wait all this time since his last game to sack him ?? Personaly i,m not in favour of managers getting sacked after what might be considered a good season so i feel sorry for him and Forest fans,So i wish all parties well for the coming season.
And a UEFA Cup Final. This has the potential to be a cracking appointment for Forest. McClaren is outto resurrect his reputation and Forest can only benefit. If he gets a decent start the numpties that take their opinions from the papers will find another target to feed off. Hopefully we'll be leaving the Fester and Bellend Road mob for better things at the end of the season. Youuuuu Reds (fer schure, have a smoke, relax, ish good)
sa14 to say the least, its common knowledge that Doughty and Billy couldn't stand each other, to be fair Billy didn't do himself any favours in using the media to air his grievances in regards to transfer policy but how the hell Doughty (and that muppet Arthur) can sack a manger thats saved us from relegation and got us into the playoffs two seasons running is beyond me.
Tricky, I dont think that the last season saw much, if any improvement in the team when compared with the previous season. That always has to be an aim, as the squad becomes more experienced, yet has failed to happen. They have stood still and Billy does not rate the squad good enough to get promotion and is very open about that opinion. It comes down to whether or not, firstly, is ND prepared to invest more £m's on top of the £6m pa to keep afloat and on top of the £60m he is owed. If he isn't, by BD's own admission, he cant get any more out of the squad, so BD obviously isn't the right man. If he is prepared to spend, then secondly, he has to consider who is the right person to be spending it. BD hasn't got a great record in expensive signings (ask them at Derby) but he wants "stellar signings", who could prove to be expensive flops! Or, he may fall out with them and leave them out of the team. Or is it SM, who has many contacts in the game and MAY understand the philosophy of building a promotion winning squad without splashing on 3 or 4 expensive signings, so MAY look at strengthening in a more circumspect and varied manner. In addition, it may be that SM may generate a more positive atmosphere around the club, who may grind his axe in private with the board rather than in public and who may get more out the present crop of players. I can't see the point of saying that Billy "kept us up" and so it is stupid to sack him! We want promotion next year and Billy has failed twice with this squad and admits he can do nothing more! I say, move on, but get him back if we start to look like we are going to get relegated!
