Shearers words were .....Sunderland played well, but Citeh were under par, so what do we have to do to get recognition for playing better than them?

Surely by pointing out the fact you played well, he was giving you credit, which you deserve for getting a point at Man City and the way you got it. I thought that when Man City next dropped points at home it would be to someone like Man Utd or would be a 0-0 or 1-1 game where Man City have no luck.

Having now seen the pen I thought it was a pen. He played for it but it was a pen.

Doesn't matter how bad the other team are perceived to be by others I would rather give my team the credit for playing well against them, as I've said in the past we have no control over the opposition or how they play we can only get in there and try to beat them.
We were a match for City yesterday and for a good 80 minutes far superior as the 3-1 scoreline at the time showed, however bad the penalty decision was I too have seen them given. All we need to do now is concentrate on defending for that last 5 or 10 minutes of the game but, that can be forgiven with the patched up defence we had. More than happy with the point as I was hoping we would keep the scoreline down to 3-1/2-0 to them.
