<peacedove>For one reason or the other Liverpool vs Manchester United
is a big game. This season in particular, it is becoming more important because
Manchester City is trying to take away the title from Manchester United while
Liverpool is trying to catch up with Manchester United.
Manchester City are going to be praying that Liverpool would do them
    some favour next Saturday.
On the part of Manchester United, their noisy neighbour is a problem to them and they
are not going to surrender their crown easily.I think the biggest game of the season
so far is going to be Liverpool vs Manchester United next Saturday.<ok>

Its the biggest game of the season because its the battle for overall supremacy. Man United have just overtaken Liverpool as the record title-holder, but they've still not overtaken Liverpool on overall major trophies won as Liverpool still have a slender two trophy lead with 40 to Manchester Uniteds 38. Man United still aim to be the most trophied club in English football, but they still have to get past Liverpool in order to do so.
Liverpool are aiming not to break Manchester Uniteds fabulous record of going 26 years without a title crown. The good thing during this title drought, Liver$pool unlike Manchester United haven't been relegated. The honour was bestowed on Manchester United in 1974.

    Erm no you don't.
Charity shields, second divison titles and the ''We played teams nobody has ever heard of cup'' aren't included. Liverpool are still two ahead.

It's an important game due to the rivalry that the two clubs have but at the end of the day, it's three points. If we were to win, we would need to pick up results in the Norwich and West Brom games which are after the United game to keep the momentum going.

It is only the biggest game for the scousers. It is not the biggest as far as 2 teams competing for the title because the scousers are not in contention. United will just enjoy putting some more nails in the scousers coffin.

Despite counting all the trophies, the scousers have not won the premiership even once. In terms of league titles (even counting very old ones) they have been overtaken and are nowhere near winning a league title. I cannot see them winning any title for the next ten years despite Dalglish and his fans misplaced optimism this season.

    Victory will be so sweet.

****ing hypocrite. We can't win with you lot. When we win next weekend, we will get the nonsense that ''we won our cup final''. If you lot somehow manage to win which is highly unlikely as Liverpool will do what only two sides thus far this season have done and thats tackle your players, you lot will celebrate like you won the Champions League. And don't say you won't.
Its not our cup final, and thats another one of those false statements, similar to the one that Liverpool fans say ''This is our year''. Its only three points.
Baconface knows how much of a threat Kenny is, and he knows only too well not to vex him. Kenny is the only manager to not refer to Baconface as ''Sir''. Kenny calls him ''Fergie''. The last time Baconface vexed Kenny, Kenny launched a short and painful put-down that took 7 years for Baconface to recover from.
Liverpool have the infrastructure to destroy Manchester United on and off the pitch, the only thing Man United have bigger than Liverpool is debt. Then again anything is bigger than zero. Man United have debt, Liverpool have none.

Wow. The scousers are now better than United because they have less debt!! Great footballing argument. Arsenal Fc officials have been using the same argument to justify their terrible performance. never mind the league table just look at our balance sheet....

The scousers will celebrate any win on Saturday like they have won the premiership, the FA cup, and champions league all rolled into one. Err actually not the CL as they are not even in Europe.

As for United, it is only 3 points but also the enjoyment of rubbing the scousers nose in it...league titles overtaken, spent the most money and nowhere near getting that first premiership...

    Spent the most money?
If you take a closer look, that was actually Manchester City. Then again they took a player you signed for £17 million on a free, and guess what, he lasted more than 5 minutes. Citys medical team must be better than yours. Well Hargreaves admitted as much, Man Uniteds answer to getting players fit was to dose them with more drugs than Paul Merson has in a weekend. Citys answer was to treat the injury.

Hargreaves was a champions league winner and I think United was justified in buying him for 17 million.

But how do you explain the decision to buy Carroll for 35 million? I repeat £35 million. Many people just could not believe it. Least of all Ashley who thought his Christmas had arrived early. That donkey is not worth £1 million and despite Dalglish's moronic efforts the pressure on his mistake will not reduce.

    Hey Chwistian.
    You can talk.
Baconface signed Carrick for £18.6 million and he wasn't worth the £2.75 million that Damien Comolli negotiated for then Spurs manager Martin Jol from West Ham. Martin Jol thought all his christmases had come at once. What about Dimitar Berbatov £31.8 million, Damien Comolli negotiated a £10 million deal. That was a bigger robbery than when Everton somehow managed to make a £19 million profit on Lescott, the only excuse City had was they were then managed by an imbecile.
However, Ferguson has a history of signing turkeys for big money. He paid a small fortune in the 80s for one of the worst players to grace English football, Danny Wallace, he came from a family of footballers, Ferguson managed to sign the crap one. Ray and Rodney Wallace did well for Leeds, Old Danny was as much use as a three pinned plug in the south of france. Then there was Neil Webb in the 80s. He could tackle like Charlie George...badly and pass a ball like Ray Wilkins...sideways and backways.
He also managed to waste £28 million on Juan Sebastian Veron, who was nothing short of being known as the Argentinian Jamie Redknapp, passing was fine but if a player looked at him crooked, he folded quicker than the Arsenal defence and a bad poker player.
Andy Carroll may have been over-priced at £35 million, but we managed to stiff Chelsea to the tune of £40 million when we sold them El Sulko. Carroll is however as over-priced as I said earlier as Dimitar Berbatov, who runs like an asthmatic with two wooden legs and smokes 40 benson and hedges a day.

Its that nutjob Chwistian that won't admit that Ferguson bought more turkeys than a supermarket in the month of december.

Yes but how many premierships has the scousers won? Mmm. let me see... not even one. The scousers have sunk so low that they are not even our closest rivals anymore. City and United are now untouchable. The scousers are begging to join in the race but they are nowhere good enough...

EMF, Carrick joined Spurs in 2004, Comolli joined in 2005.

Can you stop all this childish crap again.

Berbatov was the top scorer in the premiership the previous season. Come back when Carroll wins that award. That is as likely as the scousers winning the title in the next ten years.

Comolli sold Carrick to Man U for a lot more than the £2.75 million Spurs paid for him. He saw Baconface coming on that one.

EMF I'm going to issue this warning to you in front of everyone, and it goes to Christiansmith as well...

If you derail yet another thread with your pointless idiotic banter that not even a monkey would be proud of, then I will see you both banned from the Liverpool board.
