Who would have thought it? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...d-300m-kit-deal-sportswear-giants-adidas.html
On another note well done Gourlay. £30m a year in revenue is better than be £10m we had previously. FFP will be a walk in the park.
It said dependent on success how much the amount is, it is not 300m, it could be 300m if Chelsea tick the boxes this season I thought the article said, and it's the fail who are less than 30% reliable, unless of course its a positive article about Chelsea then it's 100% accurate it seems
Not definitely. If everyone else is getting similarly scaled deals (give or take), which it looks like, wages and transfer fees are bid up and you just end up with inflation. Short run winners are the players and agents, the clubs pass increased costs onto Joe public and losers are the fans who have to put up with increased prices that outstrip general inflation. Long run everyone loses if attendances fall and rising prices cant offset this. I guess what it does show, is that on a pure brand recognition basis, we ARE one of the biggest clubs in the world, despite our lack 'history'. Lol
Is it so earth shattering for Utd that they get miffed at someone having a bigger kit deal????? Get a life for Christs sake.
UTDs kit deal runs out next year, then the £45M per year deal kicks in (just a tad better than £30M)
FFP simply means in leymans terms that you just need to increase your revenue to compensate for potential losses in order to break even. That will mean: - Fans paying more: be it via ticket prices, club merchandise etc, - Corporations getting richer... Through advertisement as clubs try to force through deals. - Owners spending less - Lerner & Gold own big enough clubs to stay in the PL without major investment. Swansea, Cardiff, Southampton for instance don't. Money going out of the fans wallets into the corps pockets. FFP
We'll see. Either way when you look at those figures it goes to show how far we've come. Lafferpool where all over it when they signed last year for 25M,although in the US that figure is quoted as $$$$$. We did so well because of the new markets in N Africa and USA where we are huge apparently. You will go ahead in 2015 but the deals we are putting together now are comfortably 2nd only to you in the Prem and top 4 in the world. Not bad for little Chavski.
No, this is just to supply the shirts. All in all with Samsung we get close to 50M a season. With Gazprom and the other 6 deals we signed last year and the new tv deal our revenue is going to rise significantly just in time for ffp.
