Over the next 7 days we are blessed with some exciting football to watch... Starts on Wednesday with our u19s in th Next Gen against Inter: Im really hoping to see a good line up go out against these boys and do the goods. The U21s have been brilliant at times this season, but this game will have to be a mixture of u21s and U18s due to the u19 nature of the tournament...Could be a good opportunity to see Texeira, Suso, Nacho and maybe even jerome Sinclair get a run out. Then Thursday and its the Europa league against Young Boys. Hard one to call in terms of line up for this one due to the importance of the game on Sunday. Personally I would like to see a mixture of youth and experience for this one: GK: Reina RB: Kelly LB: Robinson CB: Coates CB: Carra/Wisdom sub if we can get a lead CM: Henderson CM: Sahin CM: Allen/Suso (If he doesnt play Wednesday) RF:Assaidi LF: Pacheco CF: Borini/Ngoo as sub We need to be full strength on sunday with players rested if we are to get anything out of it, so would like to see Sunday. GK: Reina RB: Johnson LB: Enrique CB: Agger CB: Skrtel CM: Allen CM: Shelvey CM: Sahin RF: Gerrard LF: Sterling CF: Suarez Suso on the bench on Sunday to come on and score a latewinner in dramatic fashion! Busy week, really looking forward to it and hoping we can turn out three good performances and some goals....What do otheres think?
What we need is a nice win on thursday so we'll be high in confidence to kick 3 shades of ****e out of Trafford Town.
It's great that Sterling really has took his opportunity with both hands and is now probably a first-team starter, the younger players who are trying to break through have to take note of him and that includes the likes of Suso and Pacheco, you have to make the most of your opportunity's or you'll fall behind.
Absolutely...Couldnt agree more..... Its really difficult to pick a team for thursday because of this.....i think maybe out first team may play twice this week. And then the team i have picked for thursday willl be the team that playes in the COC cup next week.???
I think the question mark about Rodgers is quite dominant here too. This season is his first taste of European football as a manager and none of us know how he will manage the squad. Will he see the Europa League as a chance to win a trophy despite saying the league is the most important? Also, what use is bagging a decent win (no disrespect to Young Boys intended, I'm sure it won't be an easy game) for gathering confidence if none of the first teamers are playing...?
I said that Gerrard and Suarez shouldn't play against Hearts. Some agreed, some didn't. They did play and I thought they were poor by their standards against Arsenal. I don't want them playing on Thursday or travelling either really (but i can see why Buck might want them on the bench as insurance) Tough decision for Buck but the brutal truth is that football at the elite/european level is a squad game now. So if the first teamers get flogged week in week out, then plainly the squad isn't good or deep enough!
Big week for us and footy in general ( CL have some awesome games in store). Newcastle Everton today won't be too shabby ( If Cabaye doesn't play or Pienaar than Defoe can come in off the bench for me for my FF.... I know ) Going to be a good week of footy.
