Sadly stepping down as mod today. When Northolt departed just prior to last Christmas, it left us with a massive gap to fill on here. As I said at the time, I had no intention of even trying and couldn't see any other candidate likely to provide that kind of presence. In my view what we needed was someone who could work similarly to me so as to minimise confusions. Someone who understood the value and workings of the board, had all the necessary nouse, prepared to get stuck in in the best interests of the board as a whole and who wouldn't get all power crazy or go round looking for issues. Goldie was the obvious choice for me. His posts had all the desired attributes subtly imprinted into the watermark. Question was, would he be willing to help out? He's no mug, Goldie. Knew what he was letting himself in for but accepted without a moment's hesitation. As we've all seen, he's been an absolute Godsend ever since, both for me personally and for the board as a whole. Suffice to say that the current health and well-being of our board has as much to with Goldie's keen attention to our needs as the various contributions from the rest of us, and in many ways more so. I was away when his imminent resignation was originally announced, so this is my first opportunity to thank him openly. Fantastic job Goldie! Ever grateful. Cheers mate!
As we've said before the QPR board is probably the best on this site and quite possibly one of the best of its kind to be found anywhere. This is due in no small way to its moderators. Thanks guys.
Didn't even know he was here ... exactly... that's good moderation that has this board leading the way on N606
Everyone has said it exactly right so very little to add. Thanks Goldie and look forward to reading yours views (as always) but as a mere mortal this time.
Many thanks for the kind words, Brix, and to all those posting. It's been a great pleasure working with Brix, and also Nutso over the last month. That the board is so popular is down to two things in my view. The high quality of the members, and Brixton's pitch-perfect moderating. Few seem to leave us - long may it continue. And in that respect, I'd like to say it's great to see Cerny, sorry, Secret Ranger returning with such a positive attitude. Nutso, like Brix, is a natural mod, an excellent and popular candidate. The board has strong management and is on the up. Pretty much shadowing the success of our club, though I still have to shake myself at the latter. In my wildest dreams, I could never have predicted what would happen at QPR. Happy days!
Happy retirement Goldhawk. One of the best mods on the net, always a fair mod, and never a cross word said against anyone on here.
