Sad times guys. Sami Hyypia has just retired aged 37 playing for, as you know, Bayer Leverkusen. He made 464 appearences for us. Here is the big mans final game! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ahX6vxei3A Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/9473124.stm
What a legend for us. Such a model professional and some of his performances, especially during that 2005 champs league run. He was a goliath in the back. Bring him in!!!! Again, someone who knows the club, what it is all about, and he can teach our young defenders a thing or two. Imagine what he could do with a physical specimen like Wisdom!
An absolute legend of Liverpool Football Club. I wish him the best of luck in his coaching career. You will never walk alone.
good thread ...pity i didnt read the list of threads before making my sami thread . oops any way Sami was a top top man
I def think we could tempt him over, if he has not signed anything for Leverkusen as of yet. Get Kenny on the phone with him, Carra, Stevie, and have a little earl verbal to get over here and sort out our backline!
The volley against Juventus will always stick in my memory.Ron Yeats when having scouted big Sami said Sami reminded him of someone, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out who that was.The colossus rang Gerard Houllier and said ''Gerard, this boy can be anything he wants to be''.He was 100% right.Sami will never walk alone.
Sami Hyyypia is a livin legend, as a bove a model pro, and generally decent all round human being. Moi Moi Sami, always welcome back to Liveppool FC
And he never beat up a corner flag or swore into a camera or was caught shagging prostitutes/grannies like a certain fat balding Man United striker.
Wish he was 25 again. He is a legend and i wish him all the best. The you tube clip was great, thanks Fowler
Do I remember correctly that he went an entire season without being booked, which is amazing for a center back. He read the game so well and didn't have to go to ground often.
