Has to go, surely? If you are going to play these games make sure you don't get caught. He got caught- he says "It's a fair cop" and goes, simple as that.

    Agreed.

Caught with his pants round his ankles.

Best win ratio of any English manager. He goes with his head held high.

Howe or Dyche for me. They are too young for the FA, though, so why not give the job to Harry Redknapp for the next couple of years?

I imagine they would be terrified of 'arry- especially after Sam-gate.

Redknapp could easily command a million as a"key note speaker" if Sam was £400k

    <laugh> So true.

But I reckon we would have beaten Slovakia by more than the odd-goal with Harry in charge. Probably 7-3 or 9-5.

Can't argue that, I'm a fan of Harry the manager. Tottenham owe him a great deal in their resurgence.

Takes a lot of flack for Pompey, but he just needs someone above him to reign him in a bit.

His response was "entrapment has won on this occasion". No, it was your stupidity.

I'm not a fan of that type of journalism, but there isn't an excuse.

Can't stand Redknapp, would love to see him get the job so I can laugh when he fails.

The next manager must be an Englishman with no skeletons including extra marital affairs in his cupboard.

Alan Pardew seems the obvious candidate.

Had it on good authority that the FA's first choice was Arsene Wenger before Big Sam.
Fully expect them to go down this route again, Southgate's little stint confirms that they'll wait for him to finish the season with Arsenal.

It's Southgates to lose, that's why they've given him 4 games.

Mancini has been mentioned, which I wouldn't mind. If Howe is approached and he declines.

Southgate will land the top job after guiding us to a solid 2-0 win over the Mighty Malta.

It'll be McClaren all over again: nice guy, ****e manager.

I don't rate Southgate. People draw upon his time at boro, but I personally think their success comes from Gibson. He provides so much to try to ensure that manager is a success.

Under 21's, same old story. Good side but still can't do it in the big ones.

Eddie Howe with Curbs as advisor would be perfect. A modern, vibrant approach framed by pragmatism.

I would like to see Russell Slade get the England job <whistle>.... and if he could get it by next Saturday all the better :)

Then we could go for Nathan Jones <ok>
