I'm not sure if anyone else is on twitter or following Jordan Sibley, a saints spoksperson I think. He posted something last night saying ... "Great night on the way home from plymouth. Hold tight for some big news tomorrow" any idea what it could be? No big news so far but I've been checking the website like hell today!
heard the same! I'm guessing it could be something minor like the player of the season announcement or that we'll be playing in next season's home kit on saturday. It could be something much more exciting like Chamberlain signing a contract or something along the lines - who knows?! On the subject of twitter, I'm pretty new to it. What are the best saints threads to follow? I've joined saintsfc, daily echo and the official saints. I managed to find another thread #saints that was buzzing earlier today but haven't been able to find it since! Any ideas what it was? Cheers!
Is anybody else slightly disappointed about it? I am. Mainly because I can't be happpy about it because I won't be there.
It's only disappointing because it was billed as "big news" by someone trying to justify their job. If it was just announced on the OWS without the big build-up, most people would think it was a great way to celebrate a very successful season. Anyway, I'm going and anyone wanting an autograph will have to form an orderly queue.
Should be a good day. Think it's good that the first team are willing to play again after a match on Saturday. Chance to thank the fans. Must be expecting a big crowd as they are opening more than one stand. Everyone will have to be patient if they want news of signings etc. These things aren't done in a day, week or even a month. Take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the fact that we know we're in the Championship next year.
I guess I'm a plastic then. Never mind eh! I guess being a Saints supporter from birth and not being able to get to match due to work commitments isn't good enough. Ho hum.
Yes Im a plastic too then! The fact that Im a student in Bristol and have already booked my day return ticket from Bristol to Soton and held a season ticket from here last year makes me as plastic as they come! haha! Plastics a side, so pleased we have made it up. A nice gesture from the club to make it a proper weekend of celebration for a great season. Would love to see old faces at St Marys. Want our cup final captain Chris Marsden to make an appearance!
Wish people woukd give up on this plastic thing. It's not funny. If you're well off, have no other commitments and and don't work Saturdays bully for you. Saints used to be a family club, when did this exclusivity and unpleasantness creep in. Luckily, the people I usually sit near never mention they haven't seen me for a few weeks.
The "plastic" reference from me was tongue in cheek, I think that the short notice will affect the attendance but I hope as many as possible will make it, it is a reasonable substitute for a bus tour around the city! I don't think anyone will fail to acquire a ticket, it is just the burden of getting to the ticket office to get them, if you are there Saturday you should be able to get them. The first batch have been allocated to Season Ticket holders who can have two each, if you know a ST holder they could get you one.
Guys and gals...The term "plastic" is unfortunate.....There are going to be a lot of people come along on Sunday to savour the atmosphere. Some will be what you term "plastics"......My question to you is this, how are you going to turn your "plastics" into hardened fans? Answer.......... by encouraging them to come to games like this to savour and enjoy their local team. Making them welcome and to showing them what they are missing.........Not by hassling them. Next year in my opinion the gates will probably go up anyway. Are you going to start hassling these extra attendees just because they weren't here last season? Or are you going to encourage them to bring their mates along to swell the crowd?....Which in turn brings in extra money for the club to spend maybe on the players you would like to see here at St Mary's. So think on Guys and Gals before criticising those extra fans, just think what you are doing and what they can do to help?
