Hi guys just managed to 'find' this from the printing room of Fleet Street prior to going to press ...... In 1998 Britain grouped together in their masses in a campaign to free soap character Deirdre Rashid from her wrongful conviction in ITV soap Coronation Street. Now it seems a similar campaign is gripping the nation, as a regular poster on not606 has been banned from the Swansea Forum by what they consider were over zealous moderators. Cardiff poster, Rubber ball (alias Aber), was banned yesterday from the Swansea site for posting what the moderators thought was a dangerous post. Shockwaves gathered across Britain. T-shirts reminiscant of those worn by the whole nation in 1998 are already being worn in their thousands in protest of the popular posters banning. please log in to view this image The nation waits to see if this new protest, will have the same effect on Aber's banning as it did with the conviction of Deirdre, played by actress Anne Kirkbride. The moderators of the Swansea Not606 Forum were asked to comment but were unavailable. If you wish to get purchase your protest t-shirt just send a blank cheque made out to Mr S Away and it will be posted to you at some time. It shocked me when I discovered this, so I thought I better let you guys know first before the whole nation finds out.
What an ill advised post. Aber has not threatened me but if you read the relevant thread he was clearly threatening Swansea posters with violence. Instead of trying to be funny you might like to show some solidarity with fellow Jacks!
He actually did not threaten anybody on the forum! That is sort of my point. Yes he went on a rant. His main point was that you guys were being hypocritical. He also said if you wanted to find him, it was easy to do so. He did not threaten to meet anyone or hurt anyone. I just thought closing the thread and a PM first with a warning to see what happened may have been in order for somebody who has been a part of both forums for a long time. Still, he has been banned and that is that
What was funny in reading his descent into mad rants , but other than that he's no more a threat than any other punchy individual you'll find on other internet site
......if you promise to REALLY send me a t shirt can i pay in drachma..ps it was funny..pps.no real threat there just dude getting overheated. cyber talk is not dangerous unless someone hurls a computer at you..and that's not very pc
I saw Aber's car in Swansea earlier... maybe he came to see some PL football? please log in to view this image
personally i think you're being a bit sensitive, abers a good lad, i admit sometimes he does need to be kept in check with regards to referring to thatcher and football hooliganism (which i have done in the past, the keeping him in check bit that is) but one strike and your banned seems a bit harsh, but its your call at the end of the day...
You may disagree with the thread, but no need to try and ambush it/take it off topic and make it personal
I'm not ambushing it, just made a general comment nd you gave such a nice reply. P.s. Swamp and Swim, it was requested by a few regular posters that he should be banned, so, it wasn't over zealous mods or just my call
"abers a good lad". Well,he does have periods of appearing "good",but deep down inside he's a real nasty piece of work,as anyone who is remotely familiar with his poosting record here could attest. I have never seen any Cardiff poster attempt to keep him "in check". On the other hand I have read a post recently where he was described as "a pretty big guy". So there in lies the problem when dealing with people like aber. They need to have boundaries, just as small chidren need to have them. He knows he has no boundaries on his own board, and that he is going to be feted as a hero for coming here and posting his usual output of garbage. In other words,he's "a good lad",and "a pretty big guy" for giving it big to those Jacks. Aber is a self confessed thug, and fair play to him for admitting it,although the whole world knew it anyway. That does not, however, excuse his appalling rhetoric, which has got worse, hence his most recent attempts to "big" himself up,for which he is now serving, what I believe to be,a temporary ban. I have no doubt that he will be back, none the wiser, and will be banned again. I would put money on that. So all this "one strike" statement is nonsense,he has a history here. He eventually left the Mod for this Forum with no choice,so there was no "harsh"ness about it. So,well done JackAsh for having the bottle to say, enough is enough. It was "your call",and you made it. Incidentally.aber has been banned previously, along with blue prophet, and john hughs. Now there's a trio of sweethearts, for you. Move over the Pontypool Front Row. A Cardiff mod recently removed the following post of mine, viz,"Did I miss something?" How brave, and necessary, was that?
