I thought you said BIG name signings, Betty's influence on things gets smaller and smaller

Betty would be a beneficial signing and can do a job for us but is he the type of player Malky would want?

    I'd take him back.

If he was the only option for an addition up front, he would be ideal. He can hold the ball up like no other we've had recently.

If he did come, I doubt Malky would accept anything from him other than being one of the squad - he would have to leave his ego by the door.

Bothroyd with Miller or Mason would be a great combination. AND ... when we're under pressure we might be able to retain the ball for more than two nanoseconds when it's cleared.

Bothroyd isn't a big name signing and it's just not going to happen.

Betty with a midfield 5 would be ideal IF he takes a pay cut and IF he wants to be part of a TEAM.

Miller or Mason just off him with Gunner and Whitts running on to the scraps.

What we have missed of late is when our passing game has not been on form or when we've been struggling to pick up the midfield scraps is an easy out. The long balls yesterday were coming straight back. No one to hold up the ball and take the pressure off us.

Jay was brilliant for the first half of last season but when he got the call from England he became all that was wrong with Cardiff City last year.

We had too many players who believed there own press.

I'd say give him a shot whats the worst that can happen???

At least he'll be able to keep Earnie company if he starts to play up again!!

Mark Bowen, Sparkey's assistant was on Talksport this morning. As well as having Cisse and Zamora and Mackie playing ahead of Bothroyd, they have Helguson and D J Campbell returning to full fitness. I'm not sure where that leaves Both in their playing order but if no. 6 in their strikers' list, he won't be happy.

If his head is in the same place as last year before his cap then he would be a good acquisition for the rest of this season, giving us more pace, variety and options. Also, he would want to show QPR he can still do it.

However, if his head is stuck up that dark, dismal place where it resided from December 2010 onwards then a big no thank you.

    As ever, Malky's call.

If Vukcic has gone back to Newcastle as rumoured we can only hope Malky has lined up someone good, where needed, for the final push.
