Just watched a Forest Saints game from March 1983. I remembered being there and even saw myself in the crowd celebrating!

We won 2-1 with goals from the peerless David Armstrong and an absolute screamer from Danny Wallace.

Stevie Williams bossing midfield, Williams and Wright solid at the back and Steve Moran poaching up front. Great memories!

If you get a chance you have to take a look.

That brought back memories. Notable features, the fact that The Big Match was on a Saturday evening, meaning MOTD was probably off the air for a season [I believe], the deadpan presentation, the old look of the City Ground stadium, the poor quality of the pitch and the bobbling ball, the hardish tackling, the average technical quality of the teams [yes, the excuse of the pitch is valid], and the slowish pace [some of them will just have to give up smoking..!]. Also, Steve Wigley featured for Forest. Wallace's goal was good, as was David Armstrong's, on his wrong peg. And Saints were going well. I managed to get this off the screen at the end of the match.

I had a ST in the family centre back then, above the Milton Rd end. Would have been there for that.
