We´ve had a great returning year To the toughest top flight in the world, With both thrills and spills galore As matches and results unfurled But what would cap it all off now With just seven matches to go, Is to really finish on a high So our momentum doesn´t slow We all know about S.Y.S The second year syndrome that some, New boys often find hard to beat But who says we need to be one We´ve proved so many doubters wrong In these thirty-one games so far, That there´s no reason to suppose That next year we can´t also star And yes, I do think we´ll be here Despite a wee flurry of late, From those in deep trouble below The gap will still just be too great But we know evil tongues will wag If our present mid-table perch, Is lost, as we enter the stretch By a sudden end of season lurch And although there is no disgrace In seventeenth spot, we deserve, So much more from this year´s exploits Which was really just a learning curve With winnable home games to come And I mean all four of them too, 8-9 points, out of the twelve We could manage without much ado And whatever we should get away Will be a bonus, at this time, So let´s push and cheer them all on For a big finish over the line. Hi RBF. I quite fancy us against anyone on a given day, most of the top six have blotted their copybook on occasion, so if we can keep playing with no fear, who knows? Enjoyed the verse, as always!
Hi RBF, sent off the letter to Nick Ferrari a couple of weeks ago with some of the prose but haven't had a reply yet. But I believe they triage the mail so I have given up hope yet.
well said RBF, I am still of the mind that 17th is achievement of our goal , anything above that is a massive bonus, if everyone else took this stance instead of moaning about us losing to Man Utd we would have a better feeling around the place OTBC!Jarold is content!
I´m sure most people would be content with 17th too jarold, but I just think that if we could say, finish somewhere between 10th and 14th, it would be a fairer reflection of our season overall.
