Pardew: fined for saying Howard Webb should be neutral before Sunderland game.
Dalglish: Criticises referees after game against Stoke, he gets to have a meeting with Mike Riley.

**** the Premier League and the FA. It's decisions like these that make them look like ****ing mugs. Big club bias!

I hate the amount of protection referees get. For someone with such an influence on a game, how come a manager can't discuss them without fear of unreasonable fines and bans.

I'm less outraged given that the other high profile case of influencing the ref pre game was a ban for Alex Ferguson, manager of small club Man Utd. Managers moan about decisions post game all the time without punishment, and meeting referees certainly isn't unheard of. It's not a big club issue, its the leagues confusing stance on referees.

Pardew is fined as he 'may' have influenced the ref before the game took place.

Kenny gets fined by meeting Mike Riley because he said the ref was ****e after the game.

Its the fear of offending anyone in this day and age and possible lawsuits that could occur. Its ****ing political correctness gone mad,the days of free speech are over.

Do you know what political correctness means? In fact, does anyone who says 'its political correctness gone mad' know what it means? They usually mix it up with health and safety laws or anything else that particularly irks them at the time.

Howard Webb's children have spoken out about allegations that he is biased towards Manchester United.

" Daddy is a man of immense integrity and honesty, he has always instilled upon us the virtue of having these traits which we believe is why he is not only a first class referee but also a pillar of society as a policemean " said Alex, George, Dennis, Duncan, Sir Bobby, Nobby, Ryan, Roy, Eric and Christiano.

What I meant by it is really what I said in the latter part. Free speech is dead in most aspects of life(apart from on Not606 of course). In relation to managers in football there are very stringent rules now as to what they can say and what the can't say which is dissappoiting IMO.

Is it though? Referees are meant to be impartial and attempts to influence that pregame are rightly discouraged. You'd be annoyed if you were being tried in court and the prosecution made a press release hoping the judge made the right call, which neutral as it sounds still influences the verdict. Clearly avoiding all outside influence is near impossible, but at least the right steps are being made (action towards Wilshere and Babel re Twitter use etc). Either way political correctness has nothing to do with it.

My real problem with the whole attitude is the leagues stance that referees are infallible, therefore if they saw an incident and acted on it no further action can be taken. No football fan in the world expects referees to never ever make a mistake, so why do the governing bodies think they don't? It's madness.

Depends if the referee has his own mind and a set of balls, but I see what you are saying. Comments could influence him but it could go either way. After what Pardew said instead of going easy on Joey he could have sent him off at the first possible oppertunity to teach Pardew a lesson.

Which is exactly why he shouldn't have said it, and why he's being punished.

I don't get why refs are so biased to Man U. If Ferguson constantly slated me, I would delibarately be biased to the other team just to annoy Fergie!

I just find the fact the it offends the FA and the ref and thinks it could possibly influence him sad. He should ref the game as he see's it,not dependamt on what anyone has said before or after it!!!
