So Billy Whitehurst at the game today, now was it the PA system or did he sound like he had had a few too many in Liar?
Noticed his little dir re the name change!

Not the only one after that post!!!

As i heard it, " We need to stop the Hull City Tigers and Hull FC stuff and get behind the team". Before he was ushered off

I had to laugh at that.. He followed it with "we need to get behind Hull City".

Essentially said everything the club will have hoped he wouldn't.

You have to wonder who, from the clubs point of view, thought it would be a good idea getting him up at half time.

    Loved it myself.

They were probably hoping he would tow the line and call us Hull Tigers like Windass did.

Think the same PR is trying to get Nick Barmby in for the Man U game?

I thought his speech would have inspired players and fans alike... what a shame.

Was quite a quiet round of applause for such a legend of Hull City.

After his comments I think they just wanted rid of him, personally it would of been more fitting for him to walk round the stands after, I'm pretty sure he would've got an amazing cheer from the old BP faithful.

It's 25 years since Billy played for us so unless fans are over 40 or so anyone under that age won't remember him playing for us

Fair enough saying they might not remeber him playing for us, but they should know who he is. I never saw Waggy play, but I sure as hell know who he is.

He also said he thought the crowd was quiet and it should be more like Boothferry Park.

The under 40's are excused but there are thousands of over 40's attending games now who never or hardly ever saw Big Billy play because we only ever got 4-6K in Rambo's day. City legend to proper hardcore only.
