He’ll go on his terms as long as radz retains control… they recognised that they had to shrug their shoulders and agree to all his demands no matter how obscure or seemingly trivial. The Leeds board deserve great credit for recognising there was no point in buying into the philosophy without going all in. And let’s not kid ourselves, bielsa is ‘on the spectrum’ and by most people’s standards, plain dingbats. Forking out funds to organise car parking spaces etc etc doesn’t come easy to hardened business men who are used to making their own decisions not pandering to a crazy professor. But they’ve done what they needed to do… and they let the genius flourish. So. The 49ers take control? Top post Billy No club has ever given him full control before, so Radz and Co need thanking because their gamble has paid off. Bielsa doesnt like the free flowing money in football, the high wages, the stupid contracts, the ridiculous transfer fees or indeed the money wasted on coaches/managers who are given 3 year deals, sacked and contract paid out only to get another job and fail again getting another pay out. The useless twat we got from Swansea was paid out £8m in contract pay offs from Leeds, Boro and Birmingham all within 12 months. Bielsa fights against this by having a 1 year deal and as Billy says, its honourable and fair. Why should failure win the lottery. Bielsa has spent many years in charge of National teams so was never chasing cups like most managers, yet when he did he won league titles and even the S American version of the Champions League and FA Cup. Pep has already stated few times that Bielsa is the worlds greatest coach and if he had a Man City type club he would win everything, but he is a man who likes a project, a man who wants to be supported in his quest by club owners. He wants to develop players rather than spend money, he should be a club owners dream yet too many owners want the kudos and media limelight instead of wanting their club to make money
Like you Milky, feel Marcelo will be gone once the 49’s have majority control. But by his own choosing. Think the media have never understood him, what drives him. Think all 3 of the posts on this thread deserve greater exposure. Sadly the media don’t get Marcelo or what Radz is trying to do. Thankfully most Leeds fans do.
I've always felt that the time for Bielsa to leave is not going to be on the horizon for a while yet, but haven't been able to articulate why I feel that way. This article finds the words for me, especially the short extract above. It nails exactly what gives me this comfortable feeling. Bloody hope I'm right!
I feel exactly the same. I wouldn't be surprised if the board realise this by now. It's funny how he's never lasted longer than a couple of season as other clubs. Despite what the likes of Pep and Simone say about him I don't think the sun shines out of his arse like a lot of the fan base believe

Not so sure about that, apparently he was offered 3vplayers in January, one being motm today VDB, and he refused them all.

I love the guy, he has been part of a journey that’s been fantastic. Off the field he is humble and probably the most likeable manager in our history loved by all, Leeds and the neutral. I think because he is a man of strong belief, because he is loyal and honourable he has reached his limit. At Championship level it’s easy to find suitable players but for the PL it needs a bit more and many of those players that could offer a bit more carry an attitude that doesn’t sit well with Bielsa
To be honest I think I've made me opinions clear about him for the last 2 years. I can sit here with my hand on my heart at still say with shouldn't have sold Janson or Roofe. Yeah he's but that doesn't win games. Jose and Fergie are ****s and they won games. Loyalty gets you no where let's be honest. Again I bring up Fergie. I don't know if it's blind loyalty and just our fans being naïve but I get the feeling that the fans don't understand tthat the Premier League is Leagues ahead of the Championship in the level of quality. We should have canned a few players back in the summer and replaced them.
