QPR have rejected a bid from Middlesbrough for Matt Phillips.

Championship leaders Boro offered Rangers a deal potentially worth £6mfor the 24-year-old winger, who was signed from Blackpool in 2013.

West Brom, who had a bid for him rejected during the summer, have indicated that they are still interested in Phillips, while Bournemouth are monitoring developments and Watford have discussed a possible player exchange.

Boro are keen to add to their squad during this month’s transfer window andalso want Fulham forward Ross McCormack.

    More to follow.

Would feel pretty **** to lose one of our best players to Middlesbrough. Adomah going the other way could work though.

Adomah and some cash would be great. He's a QPR fan.

It's a bit cold up north for Phillips, bless him.

He will be gone by the end I suspect

Good. Hope we don't let him go anywhere. He is the player we most need to keep now imo. His ability to get in good crosses could well keep us up.

Exactly. If they were offering £6m in one lump I suspect we would take it. No obvious alternatives out their in England o right wing that we could realistically replace him with though

    Alan Judge maybe?

Surely we are waiting until he is in the last 6 months of his contract at which point the board will sell for what they can get and spend it all on some gem from the lower leagues. Shrewd ne c'est pas?

I've been waiting a long time for him to show his "true potential", under different managers but I think time is up.

Would Judge come to us??? Yeah if Boro offer us 6 mill, try and get that figure up a little I think we have to take it, but if it's structured Daniel 'the ****' Levy style, tell them to do one, what they offered upfront for Berahino was laughable, just meant WBA couldn't buy a replacement, but did a nice job of unsettling the player.

From their point of view, it seems a lot to spend for a player not much better than Adomah, if at all.

time to get some money for Matty. Hope JFH time in the lower divisions gives him some insight in the talent down there and bring in a replacement

Don't really rate him, can look good when he can be bothered, doesn't track back and crosses as early as possible. I'd tear someone's arm off for £6m (upfront). £4m and Adomah would do me.

I think his critics can be harsh. There's no doubt the guy has plenty of end product which is the main thing you want from a winger. If his work rate was as good as a Mackie he'd be far too good for us or Boro.

Sporadic moments of brilliance just aren't good enough, someone like Mackie although not as skilled would have worked his arse off in every game and actually through sheer gut busting persistence would probably end up with more end product. I'd take 6 mil.
