    Brighton appear to be very defensive at home with

    W 3 D 4 L 2 GF 13 GA 7 v BCFC W2 D1 L6 GF9 GA14 A LIKELY CANDITE FOR A 0-0 DRAW? or 1 goal difference result either way

    I always look at a clubs record for the season before we play them. Their home recored if City are away and their away record for a City home game.
    I take the total games played and then calculate how many have ended in defeat and how many undefeated.
    Thus with Brighton's home record of W3 D4 L2;
    There is a 77% chance they will not be beaten.
    BUT there is also a reasonable possibility at 66% that they will not win.

    I also look at the history of head to head games and in this case the record with Brighton at home is;
    Brighton won 16 City won 9 Draws 9.
    This tells me that it is a ground where we can reasonably expect not to lose on at least 50% of the games. In other words it is not a hoodoo ground like Forest.
    So for this one I would forecast a draw.

    reasoning without using the percentages was my analysis, however always there is always a factor you cannot calculate

    How or why the basic stat is at the point you calculate depends on past trends...yesterday they drifted away from the goal difference of 1 to 2, whilst a draw would be the obvious had they drawn it would have followed the present trend for future calculations, it is the "hiccup that moves things along....last night they won by 2, a win or a loss would have been a better bet but a draw was the obvious conclusion...without looking at their next game I would say a home draw might be on the cards

    This proves one thing and one thing only in stats. They change!

    Ours is like water in a bucket with a hole in it, the empty bucket is Div 1............

    Depends on whether or not the past few months have been down to bad luck or just team and club capabilities?

    Football is one that can all of a sudden change.

    Brighton could now go on unbeaten run until the end of the season and go up. Or they could go on a losing streak and get relegated. Simply due to the amount of points still available.

    Equally so we could do the same.

    Notice I put Brighton first as I doubt it would happen to us <laugh>

    Always remember the future is unknown and until it becomes known it is then the past

    the future is always the present which then becomes the past, the present and the past are real, the future only becomes real when it is the present on its way to being the past

    Anyway you missed the point of the bucket..until the hole gets smaller, the water freezes or is repaired statistics say the bucket will empty.................
