Here's a post from the pinkun. It's genuine. From a poster called "jamesg" Did I say poster? I meant "twat" "Sorry, uninspired and unimaginative I have held my fire on our summer signings but the signing of Bradley Johnson is the last straw for me, whenever i have seen him he has misplaced passes and shots, and his tackling is not that great either. This is the 4th signing a top half Championship side would be happy with, not a team trying to establish in the Premership. If this is the best our Chief Scout can do then Chelsea can have him quite honestly. Can we not widen our ambit away from players in Championship? Surely we should be looking at players with some Prem experience?? Or a decent Bosman from abroad? Reo Coker, Cohen and Wendt all surely better purchases. Again we are improving squad depth but not the team, I am now worried" Beware the false prophets and those that want to detract and ruin this season. A percentage of footballing fans in general have a complex in that they have to remain negative regardless of the situation It's partly how they cope with pressure, partly just because they live their lives negatively. I urge you to disassociate yourselves from them. Our signings HAVE and WILL be awesome and we are going to have another AMAZING season. Whatever your thoughts, I just urge You to enjoy it, if you don't enjoy it then you've just given in to all the Ipswich fans that would love for us all to be miserable. We're in the best league in the world with our best team in recent times that's getting stronger by the day. I can't WAIT for the season to start!
If only JamesG was Norwich manager we would have signed Messi & Ronaldo and reincarnated George Best by now! As it is we'll just have to put up with Lambert trying his best! ; ) poor us!
"Surely we should be looking at players with some Prem experience?? " Worthington tried that tack - in fact he went one better and signed fading Scandinavian internationals. And just where did that get us ? Or has that escaped you JamesG ? I mean, everyone is entitled to an opinion - but why voice it when it makes you look a complete twat On a more positive note, I'm really excited about Elliott Bennett which is technically a done deal now Brighton have signed Buckley from Watford. Best of the 4 so far, for me
He's a good signing! I like him and have done for a couple of seasons, he's young and has the mentality/workrate to thrive under Lambert & Co! Hush up!
I really think bennett can be a revelation for us next season, im personally happy with all our signings cause i know we cant throw buckets of cash at has bins, instead we are astute with are transfer dealings in bringing in who lambert feels is right for the squad and an improvement to the squad and team... If i thought we would have had a team this good 2 years ago i think i would have died of laughing lol..
Damn pink 'un clones. I seriously don't feel anything negative about city at the moment. What is up with these tossers? At least they have somewhere to gather together. One of the best quotes I heard in the stands at a game was: "I hope they do score (the opposition), put us out of our misery" Have to be 'special' to come out with scheisse like that. Bet he posts on the pink 'un.
I still have my fingers Xd for Snodgrass! Bennett is the best we've signed so far (though I like the others as well) but Snody would be an AWESOME signing! Onwards and Upwards!
The thing is Lambert is building a squad that have a bloody good chance of staying up, but will also make mincemeat of the championship if we go down.
He seems an odd person to be bringing in, in my opinion. He's pretty much a constant in Everton's first team, so why would they want to sell him? Sure £4mil isn't bad business for the, but I can't imagine they're too cash-strapped, unless they're looking at a major signing to replace him, but even then you'd think they'd want that tied up first?
At last a sensible comment Dazz!!! Am I the only one who recalls that the original plan agreed by the Board included the chance of an initial promotion to the Prem followed by relegation back to the Championship followed by another promotion to the Prem and possibly then staying there. PL does not seem to have forgotten that and seems to be working on a team capable of giving us a chance of staying up but with brilliant Championship chances if we go down. We wouldn't have that with a load of ageing overpaid players with Premiership experience which some people are asking for. I am not a negative Nancy but I think that we probably will only survive a year this time round but I also think PL is doing exactly the right thing and represents our only hope for an eventual long term stay in the Prem in a couple of years time with a club debt free, a young side and a ground holding 35000 to finance it.
Whilst I accept the points about building a squad that could destroy the championship, we've now got a fantastic side, I still feel it might be worth signing maybe just one player who is after a last hurrah, someone like Dion Dublin. Maybe not someone to play week in, week out, but someone who has been there, done that, and can pass it all on to the rest of the squad, but as a player, one of the lads so to speak. I can't think of anyone who fits the mould, but maybe someone who'll be thinking of retiring soon, and would like one final challenge - keeping Norwich up.
Unless a side have been up and down recently, and have had the chance to build (and parachute payments), any side going up is likely to come straight back down. That's not negative, it's just reality. Of course we'll go for it, and give it our best shot, but the real key for us is stability. As has been said, Lambert's assembling a squad that, if we do come back down, will be able to put in a really strong challenge for a quick return. Something the likes of Helveg and Johnson didn't give us last time. Also, in bringing in quality for little money, Lambert is not only strengthening the squad, but strengthening the whole club. Whatever happens over the next 12 months, City are really back in business, and I can honestly say I haven't felt this bright about the club as a whole in over fifteen years. Good times!
The signings haven't been major eye openers if I'm to be honest, yes we have cash to spend but there is debts and there is a squad to build. I have a lot of faith in Lambert though, he has an eye for a bargain and he can make players step up their game. I'll be happy once we sign some defenders though.
Still finding it a bit strange I've not heard us strongly linked with any defenders. Perhaps that's just because the media prefer the 'glamour' of an attacking signing? On the other hand, it might just be because most of the transfer gossip that we read in the press is guff!! Lambert is quoted as having said he wanted seven players in. Assuming the four are completed, what do we think the other three will be? I'd go for the obvious and say Keeper, right back, and centre back. Although, I wouldn't be entirely surpised to see us go with the three keepers we have now. Personally I'd be very unsure of not signing an experienced keeper, but Lambert's a lot cleverer than me!
I reckon so, Ritchie De Laet the Manchester United player on loan at Pompey was mentioned a little while back but heard nothing more. I was speaking to my Brother the other day he said we were being linked with that Matt Mills guy at Reading, good shout I thought.
Matt Mills could be a great addition. I think there is plenty of interest from other teams in him too.
We seem to be working front to back but you can bet Lambo and the team has been working all over the shop. We'll be fully sorted for the Germany camp, they work so hard. Warnocks still sunning his fat arse while we're sorting our team out That's what NCFC 2.0 is all about boiiiii yeah!!!
Evening Ardara, good to see you here. Yep, have to agree with both of you, Mills would be a very handy acquisition.
