Bevan and Virgo have both officially left Rovers. They were both told last month that they were not going to be part of Wards future plans so would not be offered new contracts. Although their contracts was going to be expired on 28th June, Rovers were still obliged to keep paying their wages until they had recovered enough to be able to find a new club. Therefore both players were invited back to Cribbs Causeway to complete their recovery. However they have both decided to decline further help from Rovers and officially left the club. Although they will be paid a further months wages under the terms of their contracts. Higgs said: âAdam and Scott will be paid up until the end of July as per the terms of their contracts, but are now free to pursue alternative options. Weâd like to thank both players for their contributions during their time at Bristol Rovers and wish them all the best for the future.â Bevan managed 49 appearances in 2 seasons with Rovers while Virgo managed just 23 appearances in his 2 seasons with Rovers. Virgo has arranged to train closer to home with Crawley while building up his fitness.
Good luck to both. Does this mean we have a little more money to spend on new players wages do you think?
i presume ward has taken this into consideration and already made plans for these free wages like covering o'tooles wages for example!
The tough life of a fotballer... Very best wishes to both of them. They've both fulfilled the boyhood dream and made it to the pro ranks.
