Who said that foreign ownership and players was good for the game? I rest my case and it will only get worse trust me.

It sounds like they were betting on bookings rather than throwing matches. However the sending off would certainly affect the outcome.

Tough sentences by the courts and life bans are what we need

The game's integrity has been undermined for years by the advent of questionable sponsorships and foreign ownership. It was only a matter of time before this sort of thing was going to surface and it's probably only the tip of the iceberg.

This went on decades ago and the guilty were given lifetime bans and the ante needs to be stepped up on today's perpetrators.

We've grown accustomed to hearing this sort of thing from Italy for years but I'm sure it's also rife within our own game and it's a question of what else the investigation unearths

Rumours still persist about bungs and bribes for players from the likes of Brian Clough, Harry Rednapp (of course!!) George Graham and many others. No smoke without fire as they say
