Just seen someone post this on the SMB and my god there has been some amazing talents, the question is bar Messi, is there anyone that currently plays that would get into a best XI of all time?

Football has moved on so much and I love it but I wish I was around back in the day to see the likes of Pele, Garrincha, Di Stefano, Eusabio, Puskas, Best, Maradona, Cruyff, Beckenbauer and that **** Platini.

Who is the best of all time then lads? From what I've seen in clips and from what I have heard I have to say Maradona, the game with the hand of god, both goals he tore us apart, the build up to the ball coming in for him to hand it in was worthy of a goal and the other was the best solo goal in a such a big game that I have ever seen

My best 11 will be from players I remember from my time - so it will be post 1995.......

    ...................Khan................

    Neville.....Puyol......Vidic....Cole

    .......Zidane...Figo.....Ronaldinho

    Ronaldo........................Messi
    ................Ronaldo...............

That be probably best players post 2000 really.
NOTE this is not my best 11, I certainly would not play this.

For all round ability over a long period of time I would put Pele as the best player I have seen..

Surprised with G Nev at right back when people consider Cafu the best ever right back.

As for Maradona just been reading about the last world cup when he was manager and there was all the talk about the ball being to light and the players Half his age struggling to get used to but in the Argie camp Maradona was making it look so easy bending free kicks into the top corner

Not one of you has picked or mentioned the greatest ever...Paul McGrath.

He'd handle Messi and Maradonna with ease.

    Be nice, now.

Dickie Ord was considered for mine, as well as Darius Kubicki at right back.

No mention of Bobby Charlton ....... not many pros would leave him out .... 105 caps, lots of goals, amazing passer of the ball and a world cup star! He would be in my team!

It's quite sad really how a player of the quality of Ronaldo is now known to everyone as fat Ronaldo.

For me since I have been watching football he is the best out and out striker I have seen. He produced it when it mattered on the international stage and was fantastic for all the club teams he played for, he wasn't a one league wonder. I think I'm right in saying he was the youngest winner of the world player or the year and has won it 3times.

He should be known as the better Ronaldo not Fat Ronaldo

But he's called Ronaldo, and he's fat.

I put him in my team mate, there's his credit!

Was that up Murton way marra? I played against him in a charity game years back, was a real privilege for me. Brian Mooney played as well, didn't mean as much, funnily.

It's awful mate... Cold, wet, windy.....

Na, good mate, coming into the season now, so I'm very busy, this being my last Saturday night off for 4-5months, but can't grumble mate!

Managed to get a hold of some frozen Greggs from Iceland today, as a north east lad, that was probably the pinnacle of my year here to date!

Birthday tomorrow (hence the night off), and the sad prospect of the whole day stuck in the Puerto Deportivo in my mates bar with free drink in the sun, just awful...

    You winning marra??
