Some serious spare time to kill and the international break. Time to sum up this season so far The Championship Biggest surprise: Southampton/Palace. I reckon'd that Saints would be top 6, but this good? No way. Will they keep it up? I thought that Palace would struggle this season, but hey, all cred to them. Biggest disappointment: Leicester/Nottingham. Sven's golden boys hasn't been as golden as one might have thought. Nottingham is always "in the mix" but has been struggling this season. Will they recover in time? Hull City Biggest surprise: Joe Dudgeon, Aaron McLean & Basso. I have been impressed of Dudgeon so far this season and I am sure that he will become a great player for us in the future (depending on how long we get to keep him if we don't get promoted. And I gotta give Mclean some credit. Always picked on, but has started to produce and always works his ass off. I prefer him for Fryatt right now I didn't now much about Basso before he came here, but thought that he might be good to have when Gulacsi was injured. But hey, BASSO, IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR GOAL, BASSO Biggest disappointment: Matty Fryatt & Peter Gulacsi Fryatt hasn't been himself this season and I havn't been impressed at all by him this season so far. Seems to crack under pressure. Needs to get his freaking head together. I probably had to high hopes about Gulacsi, and he probably is better than what most of us has got the impression of, but I thought he would be the new Mannone Best player(s): Koren & Chester Worst player: Not sure if I think that anyone has been so bad, Harper etc hasn't been playing really, so I gotta go with my above disappointments. Best game: Watford & West Ham. The strength to turn the game around against Watford (twice) despite playing pretty ****e. And I got impressed of how we played against West Ham despite the loss. Worst game: Leeds. No comment neccessary. Palace: My first game and it was pretty awful. Your turn! Write about those you can bother to do.
Best moment, Korens last minute strike to a game we didnt deserve to win (Watford) Worst; Leeds away, we were awful
Championship Best, Saints or Palace. Worst, West Ham or Bristol City Best result 2-1 against cardiff worst result 4-1 against leeds. best player chester or rosenoir worst player fryatt or evans Evans has been a dissapointment to me. Fryatt is just plain naff
Championship. biggest surprise: Palace/ Derby disappointment: Ipswich/ Leicester City. Best players: Rosenior, Koren, Chester (if he keeps it up I think we'll struggle to keep hold of him) Worst players: Evans (so raw and seems to lack confidence at times), Fryatt (because we know what he's capable of) Best game: Performance v West Ham Result v Cardiff Worst game: Performance v Leeds Result v Barnsley
I agree with you Febbos, I knew Saints would do well but they deservedly sitting in top spot right now. Palace look a completely different side to the one that has been battling relegation for the last few years and before their poor run of form Derby were another suprise. At the start of the season I expected more from Forest and Leicester, the later especially after spending all that money. I'm also suprised Burnley and Ipswich aren't doing better than they are, especially if you consider Ipswich been tipped for the top 6 in pre season. Best players for us this season have to be Chester, Hobbs, Basso, Rosenior and Koren. Dudgeon appears to be getting better by the game too ad Mclean appears to have got better in front of goal recently. Aside from Gulasci at Leeds (he did ok aginst the hammers yesterday imo) nobody has really done badly, I think Fryatt has being disappointing and fustrating at times as has Brady recently but there's not really a weak player in the first team which says a lot of how things are atm. Best game. Got to be the Cardiff game, showed we could mix it with our top 6 rivals. Worst game. Without doubt Leeds away. The Leeds fans are still going on about it, and they say they're our cup final
