In the magazine Four Four Two, all 92 clubs including Norwich had their best & worst foreign players listed. For Norwich they named Mathias Svensson as our best foreign player and Julien Brellier as our worst. Who would you say are the best & worst foreign players to play for Norwich?
If you include loanees I'd have to say Sitonyerarseki was the worst, I'll have to think long and hard about who was the best!
Both hard to call. Best, I'd say is probably Steen Nedergaard. Worst is a dead heat between Raymond de Waard and Victor Segura
Best - Hoolahan - really hard to think of others Worst - I dare not say his name as I don't want to give anyone nightmares, but he's Australian and is a 'keeper.
For me its a toss up between Svensson and Nedergaard as the best. A close call between De Waard, Sibierski and Brellier for worst although Brellier edges it after the revelation in Huckerby's autobiography. After Hucks asked him why he wouldn't play a cross field ball to him, Brellier is alleged to have said 'because I can't kick it that far'
Dave/Maestro, is there anyway the players listed under 'worst' could be *** out, like swear words, because I feel insulted just reading their names and remembering how awful they were.
I liked Matt Svensson. Nedergaard was also a good player. In terms of the worst, wasn't Fernando Derveld pretty bad?
I went to Brundall a couple of years ago to survey a barn conversion for a new kitchen. Lo and behold, Msr Anselin was there, employed as a painter and decorator by the Builder !!
Anybody remember Drazen Muzinic? I think he only played about 15 games. Didn't exactly set the league alight. I did like Svensson, thought he was an excellent player.
Best :- How about Efan Ekoku(Nigeria) and Youssef Safri(Morocco) Worst :- Brellier (although for expectations Helveg & Matti Jonsson were a great disappointment) Unrelated, did anyone see on ITV4 Southampton v Man City from 1983 ??? (Finished 4-1 to Southampton but it was fun to see Kevin Bond and Kevin Reeves both playing, Bond being absolutely useless and gifting Southampton a goal, and Reeves producing a class finish to beat Shilton and get Man Citys only goal, really reminded me of the late 70s very early 80s!).
