Man Utd win was special but the last minute winner at West Brom was so so crucial and a big turning point in our season
... funny that you've confined the Southampton game to 'any others' ... I actually felt that this and Swansea were our most complete performances - but the Man United one will be the one remembered ... which, actually, was a bit of a freak result ... similar to Chelsea v Bradford ... incredible momentum built from an implausible if not seemingly impossible position... ... two of our worst performances of the season came away at Southampton and Swansea ... perhaps the only two where we were never in the game ... ... in the reverse fixtures we gave them both the proverbial 'slapping' never allowing them to get a foothold in the game ... worth remembering what Southampton did to Villa in the game after playing us ... Jenas and Shearer commented on MOTD that Villa couldn't cope with Southampton's pace ... the week before they couldn't cope with ours .... ... for me, we grew as a team through the season ... the West Ham game was a turning point ... but the 'professional' performance at Burnley aside, we had transformed into a very effective 'unit' ... with only the Champions elect showing us that we still have some distance to go ... against QPR we were in complete control ... and I hope that will be a marker for how we start the season in August ... certainly we need not fear the gulf anymore ... we are more than competitive - my only fear at the moment is how we would react to not having Cambiasso ... so stop fookin' about Esteban and commit!
I would go for the Burnley away victory because of its importance. As I said elsewhere, if we'd lost that (and they did miss a penalty), final day would have saw Burnley on 33, Hull on 34, us on 35 and Newcastle on 36, with two relegation spots left undecided. In terms of excitement, Man U. In terms of performance, I'd just say Newcastle over QPR because there was more riding on it.
Agree with this and also why Vardys winner was goal of the season for me. The previous week we had got a win against West Ham but coming back in the last 10 minutes to win was in my opinion the real turning point of the season. From here the team seemed to gain belief. Wasn't the best we played but for me the best win.
Vardys winner was crucial in our run in. Although Man U was good, they were a mess! Though fair play from our lads, 5 goals from 5 shots on target.
Man Utd without a doubt. Was also the game which I realised that Cambiasso gave more then half a **** and wasn't just here to sell some shirts.
