In broad terms I'm looking at the possibility of linking a web site to a back office system Web site. I have a load of requirements but the main ones are: total control over maintenance of text, images and videos ability to capture information and import into a back office system I have looked at a few web site building tools that seem to meet the requirements and have provisionally settled for Webflow Linking to back office system. This is more difficult to get to grips with. If possible I would like to build the forms/dialogue for information capture (preferably in MS Access or some other codeless tool) and somehow incorporate this into the web site. I have looked at Caspio for this and it claims all sorts of goodies. They offer trials and advice but require phone no, email address, web address, business name and type of business in order to contact them. They ignore emails with questions I need answered. One thing I would like is to visit a web site that was built using Caspio, or similar tool, but Caspio doesn't supply that info in the blurb. In the end I got fed up with all their blurb and gave up Any help/ suggestions/ tips gratefully received Thanks
The back office system is a bespoke sales system built by me in MS Access which interfaces with a bespoke accounting system, also built by me (Sage and Xero are too labour intensive)
My advice would be not to worry about it as worse things happen at sea. I'm sure it will all come out in the wash. If at first you don't succeed................. And remember the end justifies the means. Best of luck squire. Hope this sets you on the road to success. I don't charge for my advice either
I’d just do it in php. Start off with a simple page with a text box and a submit button that saves the text entered to a table and another simple page that displays the data in that table then you have the basics in place and can expand from there.
Neither I nor Amanda can code. I could write code in binary long ago and patch but I moved away from coding yonks ago. This web coding is a joke and I refuse to get involved or pay for anyone else to build us a website with code. There are tools fast becoming available that dispense with coding - at last. Good design that eliminates maintenance and keeps the user in control is mandatory requirement. Can't be going back to coders every time something needs changing. The site will be updated frequently One of my nephews is a web designer and i have him looking at Webflow at present. Integration with the back office is a big query at present but obviously people do it. I'll be happy with a "black box" piece of code with a simple API for the time being At present she is getting plenty of business off social media but wants a professional web site presence. Just a temporary basic web site at present
You might want to look at things like Cognito Forms, or web builders like Joomla. I'm aware of them because clients have used them in the past but I have not done so myself.
