Were Arsenal the best team we have played so far?

Personally i don't think so, but who has been?

If he thinks Arsenal was tough, wait till he faces either of the Manchester clubs..

Jack Colback says that playing Arsenal was the toughest test of his career so far.

Having returned to the first team for the 2-1 defeat, the midfielder told SAFC.com that facing Arsene Wenger's side was a real challenge but that he hopes to become a better player from the match.

Colback explained that despite featuring against other top sides, it was the expanse and speed of Arsenal's play that was a real eye-opener.

"Obviously we plaed Chelsea at home but I don't think they move it around as quick as Arsenal," he said.

"They make the pitch really big and they're constantly rotating so you don't really get a chance to have a breather.

"But while it's hard work and tough, these are the games you want to play in and it's great experience for me to play and start the game."

Sunderland succumbed to goals at the beginning and end of the game from Robin Van Persie either side of Seb Larsson's free-kick.

But Colback saw his compatriots' endeavour to come back after conceding inside 35 seconds as a real plus in the game and revealed his disappointment that Sunderland leave North London contemplating defeat:

"It was the worst start we could have asked for," he said.

"The gaffer said that they're going through a tricky time at the moment and told us to try and quiet the crowd down and we didn't do that.

"But I think we showed the fighting spirit again that we have in the team and got back into it but it's just a massive disappointment that we got nothing after all that effort."

However, while Arsenal dominated the match in the early exchanges through Van Persie's opener, Colback and his midfield partner Lee Cattermole were left rueing missed chances which would have given Sunderland a lead at half time after Larsson's wonder goal.

"We're massively disappointed - to lose the game to a free kick as well was a huge disappointment. We had our chances as well - Catts' header and I missed one.

"I was trying to get forward as much as possible and with Stephane [Sessegnon] up front on his own I was trying to get forward as much as I could to support him.

"I can't remember who put the ball in but Seb knocked it down for me and if anything I think I caught it too well and sadly it went over.

"If those had gone in we maybe could have been looking at something more than just a point but we're just so disappointed not to get anything."

Watched the highlights last night mate and they were nowhere near the best we've played so far, maybe that is the problem with the team they don't believe they can get anything from games. As fans we can think that but, as players they've got to have some belief that they can get something from the game other wise they might as well wrap in now.

We have a habit of making any team we play look like world champions.
