Excluding ourselves obviously What's the best team you've ever seen play us at Loftus Road I've been going since the mid 70s I cannot honestly remember myself I know the cup game v Arsenal some years ago they were the first I'd seen of the new breed I know Man City were class all over the pitch when they first got good a few years ago though even then I thought Barton and Ali had equal of them in midfield I remember Suarez knocking it past Clint as scoring man v boy Going back I remember David Platt for Villa looking a class above and when he scored I' m sure every player on the pitch applauded
Probably the Man U side in season 68/69, remember when we played them away & I was at pub & saw the score on tv & looked like 0-1 to rangers & went running home & said to my dad we’ve just beaten Man Utd 1-0, he laughed & said we lost 8-1, must have been that last drink as seeing things, so disappointed Lol
The home game that season was my first ever QPR match, we lost 3-2 and Bobby Charlton was different class but that Man Utd team was past their best. You have to take into account our team as opposition so some of the more recent matches in the Premier League we were not at the races so to speak. I think the Man Utd side in the mid 90s had some tremendous talent, the Giggs and Kanchelskis combo made them great to watch and I remember them taking us apart in a 3-1 win. I have to say the best ever performance I've seen against us was in the 80s, I'd gone on a week long golfing holiday in Blackpool and my uncle who lived in Liverpool got me a ticket to our match against them, we were top of Division One after a great start and Liverpool were 2nd. They simply annihilated us 4-0, John Barnes had a blinder, they were untouchable that season until Wimbledon spooked them in the Cup Final...
Hate to say it but the Leeds side that won the title in 1973 take some beating, a nasty side put together by Revie including Bremnar, Charlton, Hunter, Giles, Clarke, Lorimer, but they could also play football. The final game of that season was at HQ, Jim Gregory banned the TV cameras as he thought it would affect the attendance, close to 30000 were at the game and they duly beat us, either 1-0 or 2-0 can't remember, but they were a hell of a side......
i remember QPR played Ajax a few years ago in a friendly . Their fans took the away stand completely. However their football was very much pass and move......I think we lost 1-0 but the football from both sides was very good
On reflection hard to see past this. We have been well beaten by some very good looking teams over the last few years - Liverpool, Utd, Arsenal 2-0 at a stroll, - but it’s hard to tell when we were so ****. Leeds beat us easily when we were on the verge of being very good indeed.
