Whilst I always enjoy listening to You'll Never Walk Alone at Anfield or any of the patriotic rugby crowds at Home Internationals, I think Sunshine on Leith by the Proclaimers just be the most spine tingling sporting anthem ever, a mix of super melody and exceptional lyrics.
I heard this for the first time a few weeks ago when Hibs fans sang it in tribute to their recently deceased chairman and found a version when Hibs won the Scottish Cup in 2016 for the first time in 100 years. The song has been in my head ever since.
Interestingly I've discovered that the original version is now the most requested music at funerals in Scotland!I

Put me out of my misery, who is the bloke with the cup at the end of the clip? I am sure I have seen him before but can't think where
 
It is a brilliant song that one and Hibs do it brilliantly.

I always think Wise Men Say takes some beating, but I am bias.

What I really love is a day at the test match. Late afternoon the Barmy Army chant takes some beating. Then we get Jerusalem going, real hairs on the back of the neck stuff.

I was at Fury v White and I have to say Wembley was unbelievable for Sweet Caroline, American Pie and then Sex is on Fire - unbelievable noise.

Alan Stubbs was the Hibs manager. He played CH for us in one of our bad spells in 2005 ish but went back to Everton after only a short while.

I can only assume that the song was adopted by Hibs supporters due to the strong connection Craig and Charlie Reid (The Proclaimers), who wrote it, had with the club.

I recognised Stubbs, McGeouch and Stokes Argus, it’s the bloke in the last frame of the clip holding the cup. I recognise him from somewhere but can’t think where

*Edit* His name is David Gray, I've just looked at his Wiki page and f**k knows who I was thinking of but I have never come across him in my life <doh>

Stubbs could have lifelong hero for winning the cup that day. A last minute winner against Rangers too.

Then, .....he leaves for bloody Rotherham!!

Was a twat for us anyway.
 
I hate sectarianism or extremism of any sort and I am reluctant to post one of my favourite folk songs because of the association, but this clip brings shivers down my spine. Personally it’s the best sporting anthem when sung appropriately.
