Stupidly I've managed to find a job where I have to work Saturdays! Which Limits my game options...

I'm looking at getting Man Utd tickets for the Monday evening. My question is what's the best place to sit centrally and the right distance from pitch to get a great view of the game?

I've always been in areas where the ticket is cheaper before so this will be a new experience for me :)

You mean the best seat isn't Block 35 Row AA? :(

by the way, I have already purchased that seat next to me.

I would say about row AA, or within 5 rows of it is pretty good as you are high enough to see the flow of the game on the other side of the pitch.

I like sitting around row X either right behind the Chapel goal or I sit in the Kingsland stand near Northam. The big advantage of sitting in the Chapel is that Saints kick towards the Chapel 2nd half and score more goals that end. However, if I want a better atmosphere I will sit in the Kingsland block 35.

If you want to sit centrally, your best bet is Kingsland Premium, and relatively near row AA. Tickets in these seats go pretty fast, so I'd go for them soon if i was you

Consensus on the perfect row seem to be between X and AA and most would agree the you want to be central to one of the stands.

This leaves you three obvious choice as the centre of the Northam will be reserved for away fans. Block 7, Block 18 or Block 31 are your best bets, anywhere around row Z. Good luck finding a decent seat and hopefully you enjoy the game.

I sat in row 00 in the Northam for the LCFC game. Great view from up there, even for the action down the Chapel end. Only problem is you have to put up with the wall bangers.

And the people who smoke even though it's banned. I don't particularly want to inhale cigarette smoke while watching football.

I mean, who can't wait a couple of hours for a fag for ****s sake? People who will develop lung cancer before they reach the age of 40 no doubt.

Just have a word with a steward. A bloke was smoking near us and as he seemed a 'reasonable' chap, we asked him to stop. He did.

I wasn't sure who it was though, I was in the area where everyone stands up and couldn't see the culprit(s), could just smell the smoke.

Just hope you get your seats and enjoy Saints smashing 5 or 6 past United. Love seeing United destroyed by anyone including Pompey doing it to them in the FA Cup in 2008!!

You could always go along row by row, saying "excuse me young men, is one of you the culprit of the ghastly odour of cigarette?" Sure that would sort it out :emoticon-0110-tongu

Maybe they're not actually smoking. Smokers stink of cigarettes even when they are washed and haven't smoked for hours.

I've seen quite a few of those e-cigs being used at games. I'm not certain of the legality of using them inside a football stadium but I wouldn't be surprised if many have banned them.

Not sure why they would ban them. The vapour is safe and they're not a fire risk like cigarettes. Also people won't be tempted to smoke tobacco if they have one.

The Kingsland/Northam corner is the place for atmosphere and noise - keep away from row 00 as I am one of the wall bangers! Its called fun...LOL

Ok managed to get tickets in the itchen stand block 4 row G...

Buying tickets is a pain for some reason I couldn't add my brothers id number.

Also buying through my phone didn't give me the choice to choose the row. I had to keep cancelling the tickets until I got a different row :/
