Just been reading about Diallo being on the shortlist of 3 for Championship player of the season. After a slow start he's been fantastic for us and I'd love his loan to be extended for another season.
Got me thinking about other successful loans we've had and were sorry to see leave.
Best I can remember were Shay Given and Peter Beagrie back in the dim and distant past.
Any other good uns people can remember?

Alonso and Danny Rose were good but Jonny Evan's has to be one of the best, on both occasions

We 'made' Danny Welbeck, too, and Fabio Borini was fantastic . . . . until we signed him permanently :emoticon-0148-yes:

I was about to mate. M’vila wasn’t amazing on his own but made a class midfield with Catts and Kirchhoff. All had their different skills and styles.

Evans for me had to be our best ever loan signing, coming to the club at the age he was and commanding the defence. Mentions also go to Alonso, Borini, Cisse for scoring home and away against those lot up the road and I must admit I didn't mind Bendtner when he was here

Amad has been great once he got settled. Great attitude and ability, he's playing in the PL next season.

Borini was tremendous in his first spell, chucking himself into what looked like a lost cause and scoring a good few. Pity about the permanent move!

Evans recently the best for me. I doubt we'd have got up without him, or stayed up without him.

Going back much longer, I thought Jimmy Nichol was great for us under Durban. Some player that lad.

Might go against most of you here ( like I give a flying one<laugh>) but Amad although brilliant at times is just as frustrating.
There are times when he is to lackadaisical and always wants to try the flicks n tricks and is so one footed it is embarrassing for a "premiership" player. Although I agree he has been fantastic at times I don't think he will make it at Man U. I so hope he proves me wrong.

I would agree with Evans. I think Michut is high class and would love to sign him.

Loaning Grigg out made me a happy man as well mind <laugh>

Back in the 80s the transfer window was open until April or something. Loans were standard only a month long. I saw Beagrie play and I'm sure we beat Brighton 4-2. He was unplayable.

Borini special mention for working hard on loan then nothing putting in a fraction of the effort when signing on a permanent deal! Bloke only gave a **** when he thought he had a chance of going back to Liverpool! Even when on loan he wasn't amazing just hard working. Still gave a few memories against the Mags and Chelsea.

Jimmy Nicholl on loan under Alan Durban was a class act but nowhere near the impact of Diallo.
