Sam Rockwell is an Indie god (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Moon, Matchstick Men).

Not seen much new stuff at all but the Hobbit filled the geek quota.

Best was Hugo back in January - a charming story with so many references to the Golden Age of Cinema and it was beautifully done.

Hoped it would be Skyfall, but saw Intouchables in the same week - heaps better and hard to go past. Looking out for 7 Psychopaths now though.

Very underrated in my view, and a good honest 'actioner' I enjoyed Dredd.

On the whole, I only seem to get to films with the kids these days, so had my full of superhero movies again this year.

I thought Skyfall was good, but couldn't figure out why Bond didn't put M into a B&B down the road, rather than in harms way at his old home. A bit irresponsible for a top agent, methinks.
