Personally, if De Ridder can get a consistent run of games and improves crossing he could be a key player for us My best midfield would be: Lallana Schneiderlin Cork De Ridder What would be yours?
If De Ridder could play consistently like yesterday id agree with you, made some key tackles and looked very dangerous and if not then chaplow
I don't know really but different midfield for different games seems the way to go at the moment, what you need in one game may be not so important in the next. One thing i would say though is spiderman surely has to be a starter after yesterdays performance! he was immense!
I agree. Morgan was absolutely immense yesterday as usual, Cork is fantastic as well, and I won't even start talking about Chappers because I would be waxing lyrical all day. Not even mentioning Deano either, who is also great.
The best thing about it is that if you went to West Ham and said "do you want Dean Hammond/Morgan in your team" they would say no way. But Adkins gets them to play together like the best team in the League (which we are). All praise be to the true Nigel.
I think you may have forgotten west ham. Nolan, lansbury, Diop, Bentley, collison, matt taylor, noble, gary o'neill. That is a class squad of midfielders.
True they are all very good players, but would you honestly accept any of these big time charlies on ridiculous wages for any of our players? would I? No. Anyway from what I've seen none of these players have set the league alight really.
I'll see for myself when I go on friday, but my parents came back from the game yesterday and said de ridder's crossing was abysmal, is it really THAT bad?
I can only remember one, ONE, staying on the pitch. Yes it led to a goal, but a wide man needs to provide a regular, quality supply to the forwards. Similar to an Accountant providing quality reports to a manger of a firm.
Chaplow's setback means he won't be an option for while. De Ridder worked very hard yesterday and showed that with some work he could be a decent player for us. Adkin's strength seems to be that he can get the team to play better than its parts.
We can all have our opinions on the team but ultmately it is only one man's job to pick the team. You have to take into consideration the opponents, fitness of players, home or away etc. My own personal opinion, for what it's worth, is that Cork and Morgan work well together when we are at home but we need Deano's steel in tough matches away from home. Chappers, if fit, has pretty much nailed down right of midfield although De Ridder did well there yesterday and Adam is irreplaceable on the left
We all have an opinion but Nigels is the one that counts and he's got it right on nearly every occasion. Long may it continue!
Wow putting De Ridder above Chaplow, is this some sort of sick joke? Left to Right Lallana-------------------Chaplow ----------Cork Morgan----------
