The Rocky films will go down as legendary, there's a few older ones I have yet to see, Cinderella man, Ali, resurrecting the champ, or the new one Hands of Stone with De Niro. I love a good fight movie even though they tend to be predictable

    On the Waterfront.

Great film. Not quite a boxing film but with one of the all time movie quotes,

    "You don't understand. I could've had class. I could've been a contender. I could've been somebody instead of a bum, which I am."

Looking at those mentioned it has dawned on me that I haven't watched many. The one that sticks out is Rocky III which had Mr T and Hulk Hogan in. I haven't seen it for a long time and it was pretty cheesy but put a smile on my face. Love the way they are lacing each other in the Rocky films and it has almost no effect. Hilarious.

Hell yeah, it's gotta be Rocky 3, the way there's no patriotic rags to riches stuff in it, and it's just a straight forward grudge match between Rocky and a huge nasty hard bastard! On a day off a perfect afternoon is watching Rocky 3 with a ****load of beer.

Love Rocky of course the new Creed film I enjoyed too. The Hurricane is a great film although not so centred around the boxing.

I saw good reviews of Creed but I thought it was pretty poor. Bad screenplay, pacing and just felt a bit disjointed to me.

Hurricane was a good movie. And good Dylan song too.

    AWOL if it counts ?

There's not really much to choose from if it's specifically boxing because it's either rocky or million dollar baby of which the best film is the latter, but they are both great in different ways.

How has nobody mentioned Raging Bull is beyond me. De Niro in his pomp. Shot in black and white with amazing cinematography Scorsese is just an amazing film maker.

They're all a bit too fairytale for me, I didn't mind Raging Bull, Rocky is just a ****ing farce, Creed was gay... Warrior wipes the floor with all boxing films.

Maybe you should try that with Sunderland matches.

    Rocky.

It was such a good film that we're still seeing the spin-offs from it now.
