We are told that Argyle will be on the road for 10918.8 miles this coming season. We weren't seen as the best supported away team in Div2 last season,....I think we came third or fourth. I think that is just worked out by how many fans travel....that is not a true figure of who is the best supported away. If a club take a 1000 fans ten miles down the road to an away match....so what....all clubs could possibly do that.... there is no real supporters sacrifice in that,is there ? But if a club take a 1000 fans to a 600 mile round trip....doesn't that equal 600,000 miles travelled by individual fans for one match alone ? In that case, say Argyle on average took 500 fans to each away match.... isn't that then........10918.8 X 500....which is 5,459,400. Nearly 5.5 million miles.... individual trips taken.......you show me any club in Div 1/2 that come anywhere near that..... and a lot of Championship clubs and Premiership clubs possibly don't need to do that to support their team.......isn't it a good job PAFC aren't in Europe !!! Miles travelled... multiplied by fans going... should be the formula used to determine who is the best supported club......Argyle would win everytime. PS........Torquay and Exeter must come second & third surely ? Thinking that through...they might not be because of less supporters to multiply their milage by ?
