Runningman75 has started a good thread on LFW about who is the best or worst load signing we've had. Fancy a go? I'd pick Lee Cook as the best as he was instrumental in pulling us out of our nose-dive towards oblivion and worst, there are simply too many for me to immediately pick from.
Best loan: Tarbs and Jay Simpson (09/10) season, and Wayne Routledge (10/11) season. Worst loan: Macheda (last season)
Walker was brilliant, but as I recall we actually started conceding more when he played! Miller just for that crucial goal against Leicester!
Not great at remembering loanees. Walker looked like a future England international from day one. A lot of comments saying within two years but made it in less. I have an affiliation with him now. Routledge also made a huge difference in getting us up but seemed like the archetypal mercenary to me. Puncheon the worst - was it 15 minutes in hoops when we came so close to signing him outright? Look at him now.
I thought it ironic that Walker was so good for us, but never scored in the Championship. Then he scootles over to Villa and scores on his debut for them. How does that work?
This is all very modern, apart from Andy's Gus Caesar. What about, to pick a couple at random, Tamas Priskin or Jason Jarrett?
The best is a difficult choice. In the end based on overall contribution to our club since first loaned it has to be Adel T. The worst is far simpler. Bob Malcolm without a shadow of doubt. from a sea of dross, his medicrity shines like a beacon.
