SPL investigating fans' sectarian singing at Ibrox The Scottish Premier League is investigating sectarian chanting by Rangers fans during Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Kilmarnock at Ibrox. Singing was mentioned in the SPL delegate's report and Strathclyde Police will be consulted before a course of action is decided. The police also reported that one sectarian-related arrest was made during the match. It was Rangers' first match since entering administration last Tuesday. ln February last year, European football's governing body Uefa imposed an one-match ban on Rangers' travelling supporters and a fine of 40,000 euros for discriminatory behaviour at the match against P Eindhoven on 10 March 2011. Uefa also issued the club with a suspended ban on its fans for a second away game, a ban on home fans for one match and a further 40,000 euros fine if sectarian chanting by a section of the support persists in the next three years. Supporters vowed to tackle the problem proactively and said they would improve the image of the club's fans http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17130755 Tut Tut.
Not really any surprise though is it? All I saw last week was rangers fans saying they would, as there was **** all the sfa could do about it now. Fair point actually. What can they do? Take more points off them? They will still finish 2nd. Fine them? Get to the end of the queue, there's a few bills to be paid before the SFA ever saw that money...
Among others Trev, come on. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't give a fiddlers what people sing but the **** your club is in at the minute this was the height of stupidity.
I never heard it but from what i've read every paper mentioned it and said it was awful, even the BBC mentioned it in the highlights so bad was it. Don't see what the SFA can do in all honesty.
who said that? I miss plenty. was there on saturday though. Rangers wont get done for any singing, well maybe the union bears were singing some stuff but they are at the total opposite of the stadium from me.
Administration just freezes previous debts from that point, any further dues are still payable including fines
Trevor you should realise by now that the bent copper follows me all the time trying to catch me out. Habit of a life time I suppose sniffing around trying to get a name for himself.
Trevor , you always call super and myself golden oldies , well come Ibrox march 25th we will be singing an old song . When we meet again , don't know where , dom't know when,Celtic fans sang it at Tannadice as United got relegated some 15 years ago . Wait until its belted out at Ibrox!!!I suggest you bring your union jack ear muffs that day
