He wants to play in the premier league again, and is a free agent what do you reckon ? he is 35 years old.

Yeah I'd take him. What's the worst that could happen. Not a priority position for loan/free/cheap as **** signings though as long as Defoe doesn't get injured.

Hi Monty. No thanks mate. Smacks of desperation.

He knows where the goal is but never worked hard enough for me.

We've got the big Vic and another striker would help but Berbatov isn't the answer for me.

Defoe couldn't lace his boots at Tottenham, they punted Defoe to Pompey. Berb and Keane were Spuds preferred two. Get him up for 19 games.

Well clearly Defoe is a better player than him at this point in their careers but if we've truly got zero money to spend and our only options are freebies then Berba could feasibly be useful to us.

Like I said before though that position isn't really a priority for a squad as thin as ours, he wouldn't be going straight into the first team.

That was 8 years or so though UD. Defoe is still on his game. Do you reckon Berbatov would be at 35? Are his fitness levels up with Defoe?

You and Nacho could be right though. He could be the signing of the season. I just don't see it meself.

You need someone with fight in them. Berbatov plays with a cigar in his mouth. Unless you are thinking of playing Berba behind Defoe. He was poor at Fulham(I think he went there). We had him at his peak and our system could accommodate him. You might get the odd bit of magic from him, yeah that can win games but fighting relegation isn't what he was made to do.

I'm fairly sure he's an awful option for exactly the reason you've outlined - money. You can guarantee he would want a big salary, and wages are our problem - they eat up something like 80% of our revenue (can't remember the exact figure).

You can guarantee he would only come to be one of our top earners, and probably want a pretty sizable signing on fee also.

Sorry, but it's a "**** off" from me.

EDIT: "**** off" aimed at Berba not you Nacho, just realised that could be read the wrong way <laugh>

**** off yourself haha, nah no worries I knew you didn't mean me.

I dunno, I have no excitement at the prospect of signing Berba I'm just taking it at face value that we have no money to spend so anyone we sign will be free. I don't think a 35 year old Berba would command a big wage at all personally and if he tried to we should tell him to get lost.

He would be Januzaj MkII. Never a man to get a goal in a 1-0 win.

A great big NO from me, we need fighters and grafters and that simply isn't Berbatov. There's a very good reason why he isn't playing in the premier league mate, he's passed it.

If Defoe goes to West Ham (for about £4 million) and we then get berbatov for nothing is that good business? (Rhetorical)

Moyes said, on the wireless this morning, that he doesn't know about a West Ham approach for Defoe but he did say he was a good seller. He got £3 million (I think) for Kaboul so that proves it.

    Nothing would surprise me now.
Pickford, Kone, Borini.....flog the lot and use the under 21's.
If we have any other good players, sell them as well, PVA for example.

What a state we are told our club is in, what a hopeless bunch we have had running it.

We do need scrappers and fighters but we also need some class. Someone who can create something from nothing and win us a game. That, however, isn't Berbatov.

WHU don't need strikers that's the first thing, or can we swap Defoe for Valencia and carroll now they would be alright.
