I hate Bent for how he left our club but if this was true & he came back i would be happy. I would much rather have Bent back than buy Danny Graham.

Bent set for shock Sunderland return?
    12:00 PM 11 January, 2013
Darren Bent has been linked with a sensational return to Sunderland.

The England international was a hugely popular figure with the Stadium of Light faithful, during an 18-month spell which saw him score 32 goals in 58 games.

However, the 28-year-old soured his relationship with the Black Cats by engineering a surprise £24million move to Aston Villa in January 2011.

Bent has 20 goals in 48 matches for the Midlands club, but he has been frozen out by new manager Paul Lambert who is prepared to let him leave this month.

Martin O’Neill is eager to increase his firepower at Sunderland, and he would look to lure the striker back to Wearside for a fee of around £12million

If possible and a decision was to be made between the two, I'd take Bent back at the drop of a hat.

I simply dont want another craa piss taker employed here ever again, or offer the opportunity of one joining.

Bent must regret his decison to leave us as he was an England player under us but now isnt even an Aston Villa regular. I always maintain that Bruces daughter was the catalyst for his departure, not purely money, and if he wanted to return and fight for his place here the club would be the benefactor. Fletcher, Wickham and Bent is a tremendous striking trio to possess, and offers multiple options for Martin up front, especially if we can cut a deal with Villa for £12m.

£12m for a proven top EPL striker still in his prime is a no brainer imo.

As ever, with a grovelling appology, admitting he made a mistake and was driven by ££s i would love him back!

Without this it would never work!

When the ball hits the net and its not darren bent, it is fletcher!

If Villa was skint it would make more sense for them to sell him for more than 12m and then give us what they owes us

Yes but if they've paid £12m of the £24m then wouldnt we just call it squits?

Don't want him back and we wouldn't pay his wages when he went so we won't pay them now. Posted the day he went as was talking to Bruce in Cafe 21 in Newcastle.J ust had a big pay rise and still wanted more. OK Bruce wasn't going to tell me but think this shagging his daughter was bull. He's a money grabbing crock who is third choice at Villa. THAT SAYS SOMETHING.

Graham linked for £4-5m?? Don't think £12m for Bent is realistic especially as Villa still owe us £6m - if he comes back for the £6m they owe us then fine but as a £12m bench warmer?? Not for me

Class goalscorer but imo egotistical. never liked it when Gyan came cos he wanted to be top dog.

Would take him over danny graham tho.

This is the main reason for me why I would not have him back. Nothing and no-one, must get in the way of Wickhams progress. We must believe he is going to be a top striker and premiership star.
