    or

    Stewart and Connolly
    Jones and Chopra
    Jones and Cisse
    Bent and Gyan
    Gyan and Welbeck
    Gyan and Sessegnon
    or

What other partnerships have there been? Certainly unplayable on their day, especially Jones.

could be a good partnership again at Villa

The ones with Sessegnon aren't genuine partnerships imo, but didn't Bent and Sessegnon have some time in the team together? They're the best 2 individual players imo. Have to say Jones always looked awesome when I saw his highlights, but then that isn't the best way to judge someone, a lot of mackem friends say he was far too inconsistent. Put it this way, if the derby was tomorrow, which of thos partnerships would I be hoping Sunderland didn't walk out with? Bent and Jones. Bent and Gyan close second.

Ah right, fair enough. Yeah gotta be Bent and Jones in terms of striking fear into opposition. People from a Sunderland perspective may have a different answer like.

Gyan & Welbeck were looking sensational before Welbeck got injured.

Such a shame the timing of that.

The Bent/Campbell partnership kept both Gyan and Welbeck out of the team for the short while it lasted.

I've always thought Campbell was a really exciting player like, but don't see enough of him so have to trust you lads views which are obviously that he doesn't do enough..

Jones is shiote. Bent did well without him at Ipswich, Charlton and Spurs, with him here and after him here and at Villa.

Jones on the other hand has done **** all worth mentioning before, during or after imo. 78 goals in 8 years and 278 games is hardly worth shouting about but then I guess Fletcher only has 10 more in the same time? (thats a bit concerning tbh Lol)

TBH, anyone on that list and then Bent would be the best partnership imo.

Saha and Bent would be nice? Lol

We haven't had a good strike partnership for years. One half of the partnership has been on the ascendancy while the other half has past him on the way down as they look for the exit door with the help of their agent. This says plenty about the characters we have bought and the instability of the club.

This is why fletcher appeals. I don't think he would view safc as a stepping stone

Pretty much 10 goals a season though, playing in the top league, and I think he offers a lot to the team in terms of hold up, knock downs etc. Never gone for more than 6million either IIRC?

We really were spoilt with SNQ and SKP, particularly when you consider that Bridges and Dichio scored quite a few too. Well certainly in the promotion season anyway.

I quite liked Cisse. Can't really say we have had a good partnership though.
