As an Rs fan have to say been impressed so far with the performance of BAE, part of the reason we have only conceded 6 goals in 12 games. Very solid in defence good going forward and built up a great rapport with Rs fans along with former Spur Nico Kranjcar who has still got great ability and Jermaine Jenas who scored in our win on saturday. Reminds me lot of Kyle Walker who played a huge part in getting us promoted a few years back Just waiting for Tom Carroll to get fit again and it wont be long before half our side is past and present Tottenham players. Harry and his team are doing a great job after Mark Hughes disaster campaign and hopefully it wont be to long before we are playing you again in the premiership. Come on you Rs/Spurs.
Oh mate, the last thing we need to hear is how BAE and Harry are doing a great job for your lot. Course they bloody are. Very decent manager and very decent left back. For some reason both deemed surplus to requirements. I'd even have Niko back ATM. Even the anti-Harry folk would agree that we could have done with having BAE these past couple of months. He's better than our number one left-back and a million miles better than our back-up left-back (who's now been replaced by one of our main CBs he's that poor).
Always good to hear from the QPR fans and Redknapps has always United everyone on this board. Crap luck re Carroll, I hope he's back soon as its been accepted we wasted 100 million on players who can't pass the ball aswell as Tommy!! Hopefully Redknapp, Benny and Carroll will be in the premier league next year.... All together? Looks possible at this rate!
Don't rate Bae....never have and when and if he gets back to the PL. He will become that player who gives one gift wrapped chance to the opposition per game, due to the quality of the opposition being one step up. Championship must be his level and glad he's useful to QPR.
This actually depresses me... I love Benny, the dude's a sort of cult hero here at Spurs. Although Rose impressed prior to his injury Benny is still the better LB and quite frankly I'm amazed he dropped down divisions (even more amazed we let him go out on loan), he's one of the Prem's best LB's. As for Harry, superb manager, it's no surprise he's doing well for you lot, I miss the football we played under him.
BAE has been quality this season and having not paid much attention to him for Spurs last season he appears more than comfortable in the championship. If we get Jermaine Defoe in the January window just to bolster our attack which is being touted as possible with Harry and his relationship with your chairman it wont be long before most of our first team will resemble a past and present Tottenham 11.
Why would a midfielder need to be good at passing? They're on the pitch to close down and tackle, aren't they?
Even if we considered selling (which I don't think we will, or hope not anyway) I can't see Defoe dropping down a division to be honest mate, IF he were put up for transfer there'd be a handful of clubs in the Prem who'd snap him up and with the WC round the corner, he needs to playing top flight football to earn a place on the plane to Rio in my opinion. How's Jenas been out of interest? He was a player that, on his day, could be as good as any centre mid yet he only performed well once in about 15 games, usually against Arsenal to be fair.
I'm glad you used the word "become" otherwise I might have taken it that you were saying something about what BAE actually IS as a player. So might become that. He might become a star striker or a reserve goalie, who knows. Fact is that he's not been a liability for Spurs (or, apparently, QPR) for a long, long time. I genuinely thought he looked dodgy at first but had my mind changed some years ago now. Of course the boys on the MOTD sofa are about five/six years behind as usual and do not know players nearly as well as fans of the relevant clubs do.
Benny made a quarter of mistakes compared to what Walker made last season yet copped so much flack it was unreal. Benny was and still is a top LB.
Benny's far too good to be playing in the Championship but so are a few players at QPR. He'll always be remembered fondly here but if he hasn't changed his attitude then I can't see why anyone would want him back. The Benny we saw at the end of last season is no use to us.
Do you watch the walking dead? is a popular series in USA, and here, watching the episode last week and there was a pack of zombies relentless in their pursuit of the opposition, not pretty but predictable and effective. No craft or style needed!
I reckon we'd be at least a point better off and with more rested players if we still had BAE, plus our football may not be quite so dull. Don't you wish your left back was BAE. Hell yeah!
Tots, Is that also to go with the "not top four club" which consists of Lennon & Defoe, players that have been regulars in a top four side
Assou-Ekotto's a good player, but we all know that he's no longer at WHL because of issues other than his ability. The same is true of Kranjcar, though it was Redknapp who had a problem with him, ironically.
But is Townsend a "top four player"? And what happens if we finish in the top four? Does that mean we have to sell the likes of BAE, Lennon, Defoe, probably Dawson to prevent a tear in the space-time continuum? Also how does BAE succeeding at QPR prove that he's not "top four material"? Is being regular top four player (like Kieron Gibbs or Jonny Evans or James Milner) mutually exclusive with performing well in the Championship? Why?
Because he is making headlines for playing well, that he never did in the P/L,so that tells me his better suited to playing lower down the P/L,and the championship
