Forgive my ignorance on this topic, but just out if interest... Why are Chelsea fans venting so much fury at Benitez when surely the person to blame, who holds the position of power in all this is Abramovich?
Thats a fact FK! A lot of feeling is still boiling over about the departure of Di Matteo, so whoever it was , was never going to get a big welcome!
Abramovic is a ****, for doing what all owners do to football clubs, but he has pumped huge money into us, and saved us initially from being the next leeds. Benitez is a **** for what he said about the fans of the club, who pay his wages...he couldnt even win with a team like Inter. **** him. He could win the league this year and I still wouldn't back the fat prick. Just how it is.
FK, unless you have just taken up football, you must remember the rivalry between the chavs and bin dippers, rafa v mourinho, they created a rather bitter and intense hatred for each over, based on the fact Liverpool are the club with bags of tradition and success, while they viewed Chelsea as a bunch of plastics buying their way to success and at that time Rafa was seen as a kop legend, then you had the great cup games between each other and rafa knocking chelsea out of the champions league. Am pretty sure he said "i'll never manage chelsea" but could be wrong. actually i just found this quote online Of course people can change their views, but its an odd appointment to see Rafa at chelsea and their fans will never fully take to the guy.
Benitez slagged off our club, our players, our manager, our fans, our integrity, and anything else he could think of when he managed Loserpool, and now has the total lack of morality to turn down the job offered to him ,foolishly, by our owner, Emperor Nero the Roman. He is a scumbag, will always be a scumbag, and behaves like a scumbag. Never welcome or wanted at Chelsea.
He's not a scumbag though, he's a respectable middle-aged football manager and he behaves with impressive integrity given the fans insist on chanting the name of the former manager every five minutes. Was what he said about your fans/club that awful? Was it even so untrue?
Benitez has got the team on fire. Just look at blondie up front. Rafa is a cool looking dude as well and cuts a fine figure on the touchline. Ah wid
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, mine is that Benitez has absolutely no integrity. I am not passing judgement on his ability, just his cynical behaviour. We have a long enough history under Nero the Roman Emperor to avoid more trouble like Benitez has and will continue to cause us.
none of us wanted Benitez because of the things he has said about our club in the past when he managed Liverpool.
I'd just repeat what I've posted a few times already on NOT606. Offence is never given only taken. What Rafa said about me as a Chelsea fan when he was Pool manager somehow didn't wreck my life or self esteem, I think I remember it vaguely when he said it then I think I must of had a cup of tea or something. I've just checked for scarring or any new evidence of an old would opening up but can not see any. If Rafa screws up we get rid, simples.
I have no beef with Benitez. What he said was badly judged, and one normally expects managers to stay away from the crowd and supporters, but whatever, it's in the past. I think he's a good manager, and against Leeds, his tactics seemed to start clicking into place ( and that's more impressive than it sounds vs Leeds ).
What Benitez did was tantamount to bullying in my eyes. He fed off the extreme anti-Chelsea media frenzy at the time and tried to tarnish an entire fanbase. The reason we still get plastic flag jibes to this day is because of Benitez and why our fans are called plastic. Same thing with Mourinho and "Parking the Bus". These things catch on.
Everyone is just jealous cos they never got free plastic flags. Secretly they know deep down their club doesn't rate them even a plastic flag. With Jose's open training days at SB there was free coffee, WOO HOO. Although as a modern bear I think if Chelsea do any future freebies they would consider recycling or sustainable sourced materials such as a hemp flag maybe or a bamboo banner.
