http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22401657 No doubt something for the monkeys in the press to bleat on about as ammunition for the Chelsea fans who have treated multimillionaire victim Benitez so harshly. I think we've been the best team this month so he deserves the award, we are pretty much unblemished bar that farcical game at Anfield and in truth, Aguero was fortunate to stay on the pitch in the FA Semi which may have changed the game. Silly award anyway, Mourinho only won it 3 times in his 3 year spell when we would often win every game in a month (sometimes without even conceding). Quite sure Wenger has only won it the same amount of times as Moyes despite Wenger having a 16 year spell and being the far more successful manager.
Must admit I have been surprised and suspicious at how the media appears to be backing Rafa...... certainly was not the case not too long ago! Not surprised in the sense of the media having an agenda, they always do..... perhaps they are just pissed that they are not controlling the hatred/angle/agenda, like they usually do. Must admit though DL I am surprised that being one of the more intelligent and unbiased posters on Not606(in my limited exposure) that you are still sticking to what appears to be a biased and ill informed view of Benitez...... from a distance it looks a little silly, like a little boy clutching to his beliefs, lest his ego crumbles.
At the end time will prove that Rafa is at least a half decent manager and has been nothing if not professional but he will always be regarded as a **** to us for his needless jibes and insults when he was at the helm of your club. As a Liverpool fan you are programmed to be offended by everything, ashamed of nothing but we can never forgive him and look forward to the day when door closes and blocks the view of his fat arse walking away.
Rafa has given us many things: 1) Professionalism (seriously any manager who gets the abuse that he received and turns it around earns my respect) 2) Much improved Torres (no surprise I guess given their Liverpool connection, but Nando should keep the mask permanently on for matchdays, it's almost like he has heightened powers a-la-Darth-Vader. I have been impressed with his commitment, assists, effort and 20+ goals. Pair him with Falcao and I think we could see something very special. I think that our little run in Europe has restored his confidence hugely. Selling him would be a big mistake, just at the time when he is 2/3rds back towards his pre-£50m form. 3) Mazacar (The Three Musketeers - started by RDM, but he has improved every one of them. Rotated them well, without complaints - an achievement in itself. Next season will see the fruits of RDM and Rafa's vision, when Oscar and Hazard kick on after their first season cutting their teeth at this level. 4) Europa League Final (what more can you ask, Champions League progression was out of his hands when he took over. Lovely gift, well received!) 5) Chance to qualify for CL next season via merit (actual opportunity to finish top 4, which many feared might not be possible when he took over) 6) Luiz' emergence into the DM role (Rafa has to be given huge credit for this, 2nd half of this season, he has come on leaps and bounds!) NB: I will always hold a grudge against him for denying us in the CL twice, but he earned my respect for the way he has conducted himself and brought the team forward, with an attractive brand of attacking football. If Jose does return, it will be with a very large transfer chest guaranteed (~£80m), which should be spent on Moutinho and Falcao. Disclaimer: Anyone who disagrees is fully entitled to their opinion, I stick by mine
Jeez..... nothing like wild generalisations eh? Still easier to generalise and dismiss counter-arguments than look at one's own bias!
What was generalistic about that? It was a perfect portrayal of how we feel about the man, nothing personal like.
I agree with everyone point, except for the disclaimer which should have read: "The author of this article reserves to right to edit the original post / change his opinion, at the end of the season for whatever reason e.g. we don't finish 4th and / or we don't win the Europa"
Possibly this "As a Liverpool fan you are programmed to be offended by everything, ashamed of nothing"
7. Completely stuffed up selections and subs in 4 PL matches which cost us up to 8 points. Cynics might say this was to strengthen his personal record in cups at the expense of top 4 place, but I couldn't possibly comment.
That's true as well your history tells us as much. The fact you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't there.
I'm just hoping the curse of MOTM strikes you lot down for the next 4 matches...not that I'm clutching at straws
