It is a tough call between two top managers, Benitez has youth on his side but he wasted a lot of money at Liverpool on average players Would have to go for Harry
Given the position we're in, I'd have to go for 'Arry. I think he'd be the better of the two to get the players motivated enough to get out of the ****. Then I'd like Benitez for next season and beyond.
As stated only team without an away win in 2012 from all 4 leagues so just about anyone would be an improvement.
I know we've just missed him and sounds a bit bargain basement (unfairly maybe), but I've an inkling Holloway could've done us a job.
Benitez - streets ahead of HR. What has Harry won vs Benitez who has won trophies at the highest level across Europe. As a long term plan it really is no contest
Got to agree with that. In fact I think we'd do better with no Manager at all than what we have now. The players would be like shackled prisoners suddenly set free to do what they want. I have wondered if our often improving performances later on each half are a result of the players gradually "forgetting", being less bound up with the managers pre-match instructions, and starting to play with more freedom.
Benitez, he has a rep as a tinkerer but we havent got the squad depth for all his chopping and changing. Our scouting network could filter out any duds he wanted. RB is the better manager and doesnt come with all the baggage that HR has. HR would also dump up like he dumped saints after coming to them in a similar position.
Benitez is a studious tactition and right now we need someone who will get the confidence back, motivate the players and give the place a lift. I also think Benitez lost the plot.Has Benitez ever been in a rele scrap?.Maybe in the future(if we have one) but not the right fit at the mo. Harry turned a flat, low confidence, bottom three positioned spurs team in a matter of weeks.
We need someone who can get the players believing in themselves again, get us playing in a way that suits them (gotta be a 4 2 3 1 base), and playing as a team. And he's got to do it very quickly in a team in deep sh*t. Of these 2 HR sounds the better short term alternative to me.
He also relegated saints after taking them over and we are more like them than that spurs team he took over.
I wouldn't wish either on my worst enemy. It may be an unpopular choice, but I think you guys could do a lot worse than Gus Poyet at Brighton
