I love the benefit system. It was set up as a buffer against hardship for the people most in need at a time when they needed it most. It is such a shame to see it being raped by a load of ponces who don't need it. I have no sympathy for anyone who gets grassed up in the latest move towards criminalizing the cheats. Also out in the news today is a report on the summer riots. It seems those who took part in riots and looting did so becuase they are poor and don't like the Police. Nothing to do with the chance to chore a flat screen TV from Dixons then? Before I get completely Daily Mail I would also point out that Barclays made an estimated £5million profit in the first 9 months of the year. The banking sector paid out an estimated £14Billion in bonuses despite being responsible for the financial crash that led to the recession we are still trying to dig ourselves out of. ALL pensions, not just public sector pensions, rely on investment in the stock markets and their performance is linked directly to that of these self same investment bankers who spunked our money up the wall. Make it fair. Nick benefit cheats, stick rioters in the clink but stop jerking the gherkin and stop bunging the bankers massive pay outs at the same time. Don't forget that we the taxpayer own some of the banks that are forking out millions in bonuses to bankers who lost the cash in the first place. You couldn't make it up!
We don't own the banks. We bailed them out, but if we owned them, we would have a say. A bit like video games, you don't own the game, you license it's use. You have no say in what you can do with it other than just play it on your own system. You're not even meant to lend it to a friend.
